From Formula to Image – The Art of Dataism (A képlettől a képig – A dataizmus művészete) explores how data reshapes contemporary culture and visual thinking, turning numbers into narrative and patterns into pictures. At its core is Albert-László Barabási (Barabási Albert-László), the internationally renowned network scientist whose Barabási Atelier has spent recent years translating complex systems into striking artworks. The show runs through May 10 and urges visitors to see datasets not as spreadsheets but as living structures that organize creativity, influence taste, and map our collective behavior.
Where Science Meets Studio
Barabási’s practice dissolves the boundary between lab and studio (atelier), revealing the feedback loop between research and creation. Graphs morph into galaxies; algorithms become brushstrokes. The exhibition traces how models of networks—of art worlds, science, and social ties—emerge as visual compositions, inviting viewers to read images like equations and feel the pulse of connections. It’s a primer on dataism with a twist: instead of lecturing, it seduces, showing how the architecture of influence and discovery can be seen, not just measured.
