Authors, Maps, and Free Talks
May 6 brings A szépíró olvas, a literary conversation with writer Attila Ménes, hosted by museum curator Barnabás Pótor. Admission is free. On May 7, the museum honors cartographer and professor Sándor Radó (1899–1981) with chief curator Szilveszter Mező’s closing tour of the “Cartographer ‘Master Spy’” chamber exhibition in the Museum Café—also free.
Travelogue, Birds, and Book Launch
On May 14, Mező’s illustrated talk “La Plata, the ‘Silver Funnel’” chronicles a backpacking trek along a record-setting South American estuary in Uruguay and Argentina. Ticket: $2.78 per person. May 20 spotlights the book Debrecen’s Birdlife (Debrecen madárvilága) by Ottó Veszelinov and László Demeter, introduced by ecologist Dr. Csaba Aradi, with an illustrated presentation by Veszelinov in the Grand Hall. Free entry.
