The calendar rounds up the country’s biggest, most beloved events—from marathons and half marathons to city runs, bike tours, trails, and family days. Scan the lineup, pick your challenge, and lock in those unforgettable BSI vibes.

May 6 – 2nd E.ON Business Run, Budapest

On Wednesday at 18:00, the National Athletics Center in Budapest’s 9th District (Ferencváros) hosts a corporate-spirited running party open to all. More than a race, it’s a team experience built on moving together, pushing together, and celebrating together. Expect workplace squads, friendly rivalry, and a finish-line atmosphere that lingers well into the evening.

May 9 – 19th BorsodChem Tour de Lake Tisza (Tisza-tó), Tiszafüred

Roll free around Lake Tisza. Discover one of Hungary’s most stunning natural treasures on two wheels, where motion meets wide-open nature. Bring the family, rally your friends, or chase a personal best across three distances: 28 km, 65 km, or 100 km (17.4, 40.4, or 62.1 miles). Spin easy or fly—your pace, your day. May 17 – 29th Kékes Peak Run & Trail (Kékes Csúcsfutás & Trail), Mátrafüred

One of BSI’s most iconic challenges: 11.6 km (7.2 miles) with 671 meters (2,201 feet) of elevation gain to Hungary’s highest point. Break your comfort zone and feel that last push to the top, on asphalt or trail. The Mátra air is crisp, the scenery is a knockout, and the summit feeling stays with you long after the descent. June 7 – 31st ALDI Women’s Run Gala, Budapest

Need a day that’s purely about you? Join the ALDI Women’s Run Gala in a fresh venue: City Park (Városliget), Napozórét, in Zugló (District 14). This is where women celebrate themselves and each other—seasoned runners and first-timers alike. Pick your challenge:
– 10 km solo or 10 km pairs
– 5 km
– 2.5 km
– 2.5 km walk
– 3-person relay (3×2 km)
– Combined options: 10+5 km, 10+5+2.5 km, 5+2.5 km

June 13 – Brutálfutás 15.0, Nyáregyháza

The longest 7 km (4.35 miles) and 2.3 km (1.43 miles) of your life—in the best way. Head to Nyáregyháza for a crowd-favorite BSI romp: a light-hearted obstacle run where the vibe beats brute strength. Expect mud, splashes, grins, and zero chance of staying dry or clean. Location: 2723 Nyáregyháza.

June 20 – 4th MOL Campus Bay Swim, Budapest

Dive into summer in the heart of the city at BudaPart’s Flava Beach, Újbuda (District 11). This season-opening open-water swim offers four safe, well-managed distances: 500, 1500, 3000, or 4500 meters (547, 1,640, 3,281, or 4,921 yards). While you cross the bay, supporters can relax or cheer along the green bank of Kopaszi Dam (Kopaszi-gát).

June 27 – 32nd KIPRUN Night Run, Budapest

A summer night run through the heart of Budapest—under lights, past landmarks. Race along Andrássy Avenue and across Heroes’ Square, framed by statues and evening glow. Go solo, pair up, or run as a trio for the half marathon, or choose a quarter marathon instead. The magic of night running meets the city’s history in a floodlit show.

July 18 – 44th Lidl Lake Balaton Crossing (Balaton-átúszás), Révfülöp

Hungary’s largest open-water swim awaits. Join over ten thousand athletes who each year conquer the country’s “sea,” Lake Balaton. Tackle the classic 5.2 km (3.23 miles), opt for the 2.6 km (1.62 miles) half-distance, or glide across on SUP. Rain dates: July 19, 25, 26; August 1, 2, 8, 9. Location: 8253 Révfülöp.

September 6 – 41st Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon

The distance you can defeat. Kick off BSI’s fall season on Budapest’s most beautiful streets with thousands at your side. Pick your format: the classic half marathon, pairs, trios (Powerade Trio Half Marathon), or the Szimpatika 10 km (6.21 miles). Venue: Újbuda, District 11.

September 20 – Liget Fun Run

A community-spirited run set in the city’s green heart, bringing runners of all levels together for pure, easygoing joy. Details to follow—expect an accessible, feel-good format in a park setting.

October 10–11 – 41st SPAR Budapest Marathon Festival

Hungary’s biggest mass-participation sports event is a bucket-list marathon on a gorgeous, varied city route—plus a full slate of shorter distances across two festival days so everyone finds a fit. October 11 is marathon day; October 10–11 hosts the broader festival. Venue: Újbuda, District 11.

November 14–15 – 23rd Lake Balaton Marathon & Half, Siófok

Wrap the season on the Balaton shore with marathon and half marathon options in 8600 Siófok. Crisp air, lakeside vibes, and a course built for late-season satisfaction.

December 6 – 11th Santa Run, Budapest

Finish the year in red and white in Ferencváros (District 9). A playful, festive dash that brings smiles, costumes, and one last communal burst of endorphins before the holidays.
