On Saturday, May 16, 2026, Nagykörű lights up the Tisza with the beloved Feast of Saint John of Nepomuk (Nepomuki Szent János ünnep) and its after-dark candle float. Locals and visitors gather first at the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk for a short commemoration, then make their way to the river ferry, where the program stretches into the night. The showstopper is the countless little candles gliding downstream, casting warm, shifting ribbons of light across the water.
