Lajosmizse’s City Cultural Center and Library roll out a full 2026 lineup at 6050 Lajosmizse, Szabadság Square (Szabadság tér) 12, stacking weekends with concerts, theater, markets, workshops, outdoor cinema, and summer nights that actually feel like summer. Locals and visitors get the full mix: craft circles, folk music, family shows, comedy, and big community fairs.
May Highlights
May 16 fires the starting gun: the Strawberry Fair (Szamócás Vásári Forgatag) brings a strawberry-flavored buzz, while hands-on types can dip into an enamel (tűzzománc) workshop. Stages light up with a Republic – László “Cipő” Bódi tribute, Veronika Pásku’s folk concert, and the Bori Ruttkai Band (Ruttkai Bori Banda). Families can catch Kámfor Puppet Theater (Kámfor Bábszínház) and Kackiás Folk Theater (Kackiás Folkszínház). Car lovers? The 3rd Red Cars Meetup (III. Piros Autók Találkozója) lines up the red beauties. On May 21, “Movement Morning for Babies” (“Mozgásos babás délelőtt”) invites babies to move and play in the library with Klári Rimóczi. May 23 doubles down: The Stationmaster Starts (Indul a bakterház), a folksy comedy, at the Theater Hall, Lajosmizse Cultural House, tickets USD 9.60; plus a ceramics workshop, and Winnie-the-Pooh (Micimackó – avagy a Csacsi Öreg Medvém kalandjai) at the same venue, USD 5.60. Another enamel workshop returns May 30.
Summer on Stage
June 6 offers ceramics and the Drámázni ér Társulat with Vacation! – A Musical Compilation (VAKÁCIÓ! – Zenés összeállítás). The nationwide animal and flea market hits June 7, returning July 5, August 2, August 30, September 6, October 4, November 1, and December 6. The enamel workshop repeats June 13. Abigél, the musical, by the troupe’s Dabas group, lands June 14 and June 20. July hosts two Magic Hands (Varázskezek) craft camps: July 13–17 and July 27–31.
Autumn to Winter
August 28–29 brings the 33rd Lajosmizse Days (XXXIII. Lajosmizsei Napok) city celebration. On October 8, Dumaszínház presents What Could Possibly Go Wrong? (Mi bajunk lehet?) with Fruzsina Ács and Máté Balázs Szabó, USD 19.20–21.10. October 16: Rezső Soltész and Band in concert. December 4: Tvrtko – Chernobyl 40 (Csernobil 40), USD 21.10.
