A beloved Sunday ritual is back on the Danube: the Zsilip Sunday Jewish School (Zsiliputi Zsidó Vasárnapi Iskola), a refreshed, hands-on program, is relaunching at the Zsilip Center, a venue packed with a two-story playhouse and plenty of study rooms. Families can find it in Budapest’s 13th District, 1 Újpesti Embankment (Újpesti rakpart 1). Sessions run on Sundays from 10:00 to 12:15, with some programs extending to 12:30. Kids ages 4 to 14 (and teens) are welcomed by a young, energetic team for age-based activities focused on holidays, mitzvot, traditions, and the values that carry through life. Whether tiny or tweens, almost Bar/Bat Mitzvah or already prepping for leadership, this school is for you.

Group II: Ages 7–9 — Creative Stories and Games

Group IV: Ages 12–13 — Bar/Bat Mitzvah Club
The BMC launches this fall with positive energy, laughter, and great vibes. For those stepping toward adulthood, it’s a space to learn what it means to become a full member of the community. Expect conversations about Jewish values and traditions—and your own questions—plus games, crafts, shared thinking, experiences, creative challenges, and project work. Time: Sundays, 10:00–12:15.
Group V: Ages 13–14 — Training Future Madrichim
In the MKZ Group, teens train weekly to become madrichim (youth leaders). Together they learn how to model, lead, and teach; understand children’s needs and development; and support younger kids—always in a joyful Jewish spirit. Time: Sundays, 10:00–12:15.
The school has already welcomed hundreds of kids whose Sunday mornings at Zsilip have become memories they share for years—filled with shared play and, yes, playful learning.
