Nagykanizsa’s Kanizsa Cultural Center rolls out a lively 2026 calendar across its member venues at 8800 Nagykanizsa, Széchenyi Square (Széchenyi tér) 5–9. It kicks off on May 16 with the Day of Dance, then pivots on May 19 to The Decision (A döntés) featuring Sándor Csányi (Csányi Sándor) and Réka Tenki. May 21 stacks up two talks—M. János Lehota (Lehota M. János) on “Wholeness and Infinity – Roads from Modernity to Postmodernity,” plus Father Feri Pál’s (Pál Feri) “How Could I Feel Better? Releasing My Stuckness”—and a concert by the Zala Symphony Orchestra.
Late May Premieres
On May 27, Olympian Anikó Góg presents Fire-Hardened Habits, while the Orfeum Touring Stage (Orfeum Vándorszínpad) stages Nóta, Mámor, Szerelem. May 29 pays homage with The Music of Ludovico Einaudi – Tribute. May 30 doubles up: Anthony Neilson’s The Last Fight (Az utolsó menet) and the folk tradition of Dancing Out the Maypole.
Summer Highlights
June 5 hosts The Sun Has Gone (Elment a nap) – a Balázs Fecó memorial concert. Midsummer revelry arrives June 24 with the Jucihunor Duo, June 25 offers kite-making, and June 29 brings Bachelorette (Lánybúcsú), the musical. July 5 marks Day of Traditions – Farewell, and August 27 brings the comedy No Cure Against Family (Család ellen nincs orvosság). Organizers reserve the right to change dates and programs.
