The Eidolon Center for Everyday Photography is launching a screening series spotlighting films rarely, if ever, shown in Hungary (Magyarország). The lineup explores how we use cameras in daily life, the visual habits that shape us, and our personal and political ties to photographic media.
Opening With an Award-Winning Flashpoint
Kicking things off is the widely acclaimed documentary 5 Broken Cameras by Palestinian filmmaker Emad Burnat and Israeli director Guy Davidi. The film screens three times: May 13, May 24, and May 28.
Context Before the Credits
Each screening opens with a short video essay by a contributor to the Eidolon Journal, expanding the film’s broader context before the lights go down. The program aims to spark conversations about how everyday image-making frames what we witness—and what we choose to remember.
