Budapest’s Palace of Wonders keeps Thursdays wide open for play, discovery, and a bit of mind-bending magic. With 250 interactive exhibits to dive into, families, friends, and curious solo explorers can spend hours trying, testing, and laughing their way through spaces designed for every age. You’ll leave with shared memories and new skills you didn’t know you had—conversation fuel for days.
Where and when
Find it in Óbuda at 1036 Budapest, District III, 24 Mátyás király Road (Mátyás király út). Thursday programs run all year, with scheduled dates from May 28, 2026, through December 31, 2026, every Thursday listed on the calendar. Plan a 3–4 hour visit—or stretch it to a full day if you’re up for it.
Why bring the whole crew
Exhibits work for kids from age 3, delight tweens and teens, and totally hook adults. A visit to the Palace of Wonders (Csopa) brings out hidden strengths: logic, dexterity, teamwork, and timing. Challenge each other, cheer each other on, and discover who’s secretly a puzzle master or a fearless fakir.
What you’ll actually do
– Climb into the odd-wheeled car and feel every lurch.
– Walk across a magnetic field that slows your stride.
– Navigate the mirror labyrinth and scramble your face.
– Let Picasso paint your portrait—algorithmically.
– Shake hands with yourself using one hand.
– Ride a Moon rover, land on Mars, and snap selfies with the greatest scientists.
– Become a hundred versions of yourself in the Giant Kaleidoscope.
– Stand at the center of infinity in the mirror room.
– Hear the sounds last heard in the womb.
– Wrestle with devilish locks and logic puzzles.
– Prove who’s bravest on the fakir challenge.
– Try plush-sperm target practice—perfect for an open, playful talk during the birth exhibition with teens.
– Walk among clouds with flying reflections, spin a vortex, and play air basketball.
Illusions will do the rest. And there’s still more to uncover.
