Late May: Nature, crafts, and festivals
Kick off on May 22 with the Hany Safari and Birdwatching at Sunset with Diána Tislér in Fertőd (9431). May 23 is stacked: a textile-dyeing workshop at Esterházy Palace (Fertőd), Auth Csilla and Péter Popper’s “Hozzám tartozol” evening in Fertőhomok (9492), the themed “Garden in the Palace—flowers, vines, and fountains indoors” tour (Fertőd), the 22nd Elderflower Festival in Fertőboz (9493), and Dawn Birding in Sarród (9435). From May 23–25, Pentecost Peony Days bloom in Sopronkövesd (9483). May 24 brings the “Gardens, Parks, Secrets” park tour in Fertőd; May 25 features a Whit Monday Rose Garden Tour (Fertőd), a Pentecost Afternoon in the Quarry in Fertőrákos (9421), and Father Feri Pál’s talk “From Anxiety to Self-Esteem” in Sopronkövesd.
Boats, canoes, quizzes, and comedy
May 27: Book Club at Esterházy Palace. May 28: E-boat on Lake Neusiedl (Fertő) in Fertőrákos, plus canoeing in the reeds at Balf (9494). May 29 lines up a sci-fi quiz night at the Esterházy Café (Fertőd), another sunset birdwatch, Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park in Fertőrákos, and the Hany Safari. May 30 pops: Lounge Party under the “CHILLagos” sky (Fertőd), the 5th Cenki Family Picnic food fest and Children’s Day (Nagycenk, 9485), Fertőd Children’s Day, the returning “Garden in the Palace” tour, the UEFA Champions League Final screening at Széchenyi Palace (Nagycenk), the “On the Chapel Route” cycling cultural tour (Sopronkövesd), and another E-boat ride.
