Balatonfüred rolls into summer with a packed calendar of festivals, concerts, cinema, food and wine, boat trips, and family fun. Many programs offer online tickets, and events run across multiple venues around the 8230 lakeside town. Here’s what’s on from June through late summer, plus a peek ahead to 2027.
June 8–14: Films, Cruises, Jazz
Daily lake vibes start with Balatonfüred sightseeing cruises (Balatonfüredi sétahajózás, June 8–12) and the Balatonfüred cinema program (Balatonfüredi moziműsor, June 8–14). On June 11, the Balázs Elemér Group brings sleek grooves to Parker Jazz Club. On June 12 at 18:00, the House of Jewish Excellence hosts Living With Our Greats with guest professor Mihály Pósfai, Pannon University academician and geologist. June 12–13, the Book–Wine–Jazz Festival (Könyv–Bor–Jazz Fesztivál) mixes books, wine, and live jazz around town.
June 13–14: Conversations, Fashion, Pole Art
June 13 is stacked: An Evening with Gabriella Jakupcsek at the Anna Grand Hotel is free; table reservations are recommended. The 6th From Alpha to Omega Family Picnic (VI. Alfáktól Omegáig) takes over Gapa Terrace and Park Forest (Száka dűlő), free but registration required. At 17:00, the Literary Fashion Salon (Irodalmi divatszalon) hosts a talk with author Virág Vass at the Katti Zoób Fashion Museum. Weekend options include Balatonfüred boat excursions (Balatonfüredi hajókirándulás) and the showstopping Pole Artistic Hungary international pole dance and aerial tournament—pole art, glamour, hoop, and hammock categories showcasing dizzying strength, elegance, and artistry.
June 15–21: Choirs, Openings, Museum Night
More cruises (June 15–18) and movies (June 15–21) lead into a Summer-Welcome Concert on June 18 by the Bem Memorial Choir with Gabriella Csikhon and Attila Sári. On June 19, the Arács Community House (Lóczy Lajos u. 62.) opens Milán Takács’s “From Matter to Light” at 17:00, introduced by museum educator Orsolya Nyitrai, with live electronica/folktronica–downtempo by Levente Holb “Zsörk.” The exhibition mixes digitally created paper collages, experimental images, graphic design (posters, logos), and analog photos; on view until August 24 during hours: Mon, Thu 10:00–16:00; Wed 12:00–16:00. June 19–21 brings more boat trips, while June 20 features Night of the Museums (Múzeumok Éjszakája) and the Balatonfüred International Guitar Festival (June 20–27). Comedy fans can catch András Péter Kovács and Eszter Ráskó at the Dumaszínház in the Balaton Leisure and Conference Center on June 20, tickets about $26.
Late June: Tours and History
Movies continue (June 22–28), cruises return June 22–25 and 26–28, and on June 27 a guided city walk explores the synagogue and the House of Jewish Excellence with an expert host. June 29–July 5 keeps the film program and more lake cruises rolling.
July: Music, Salsa, Stand-up, and Sailing
July 1 brings organist Gergely Rákász with MOZART in the Evangelical Church (about $16). Weekend cruises (July 3–5) pair with Túrajó guided walks—From Tree to Forest—and a Füred KERÉKkaland cycling tour on July 4 (both about $11). The Hungarian Summer Salsa Festival runs July 7–13. Party boats depart July 9 and 16 from the Pier (Hajóállomás). The 1st Hungarian International Klezmer Festival (I. Magyarországi Nemzetközi Klezmer Fesztivál) plays July 10–12. July 11 features the Allianz Bay Crossing and SUP Challenge.
From July 13–19, films and cruises return, and on July 14 the musical comedy Hyppolit, the Butler (Hyppolit, a lakáj) plays the outdoor stage (about $16). July explodes with Dumafüred 2026 (July 17–26), a who’s who of Hungarian stand-up: I Don’t Love You by István Dombóvári (Deszeretlek, July 17, about $24), Duma Jam with László Hadházi, András Péter Kovács, Gergely Litkai (July 17 and 24, about $30), Last Night’s Right (Az előző este joga) by László Hadházi (July 18, about $27), All Stars lineups July 18–19, Zoltán Kőhalmi’s new solo (July 19, about $24), In Time (Idővel) by András Péter Kovács (July 19, about $24). July 20–23 brings more solo shows: The World’s Brain (A világ agya) by László Hadházi (about $24), Sátántangó by Eszter Ráskó (about $27), DUMA AKTUÁL (July 21, about $22), Ship of Fools improv (Bolondok hajója, July 22, about $22), Duma Swing 3 (July 22, about $23), Péter Aranyosi’s Digital Ninja (July 23, about $24), and Péter Janklovics’s The Wage Obligates (A bér kötelez, July 23, about $22). Music highlight: Eszter Horgas Birthday Concert Fly With You! at the Anna Grand Hotel Theatre on July 19 (about $11). July 24–26 adds Füred Art Week, the White Ribbon – Szabolcs Izsák Memorial Regatta (Fehér Szalag – Szabolcs Izsák Emlékverseny, July 25), the grand 201st Anna Ball (Anna-bál, July 25), and more All Stars plus Hadházi’s Dogs. July 30 launches another disco party boat.
August: Blue Ribbon, Wine Weeks, Big Shows
July 30–August 1, the 58th Raiffeisen Blue Ribbon Grand Prix (Kékszalag) sails into town. Early August packs in cruises and films (Aug 3–9), a disco boat (Aug 6), and the National Large Boat Championship (Aug 6–9). The synagogue city walk returns Aug 7. Balatonfüred Wine Weeks (Balatonfüredi Borhetek) pours Aug 7–30. Family theatre nights include The Jungle Book (A dzsungel könyve) Aug 11 (about $23) and The Wife Begins at Forty on Aug 12 (about $25–$30). Tribute and pop nights: Crazy Little Queen Tribute Band on Aug 14 (about $27–$33) and Attila Kökény & Viktor Rakonczai – See You Again… on Aug 15 (about $47). The beloved musical The Paul Street Boys (A Pál utcai fiúk) plays Aug 18 (about $23), with Best of Hungaria – Budapest Rock ’n’ Roll Band on Aug 21 (about $27–$35). Aug 22 brings Mazsola and Tádé (MAZSOLA és TÁDÉ), a musical puppet show for ages 2–7 (about $10; open seating; rain venue: Sports Hall). Aug 23 offers a Summer Bike Tour. Late August keeps both cinema and cruises running (Aug 24–30), plus Dumaszínház with László Hadházi and Dávid Dennis Musimbe on Aug 29 (about $22).
September and Beyond
The Balatonfüred cinema program continues Sept 1–13, with more regional and seasonal picks rolling through autumn. Across summer, parallel recommendations include sailing tours, kayak experiences, SUP yoga sessions, GO Boating open days for students from the Veszprém–Balaton–Bakony region, and nearby food and wine picnics in Kőröshegy.
