July 2–4, 2026, Thursday to Saturday. Address: 1044 Budapest, 4th District (Újpest), Váci Road (Váci út) 83. Step into the world of small-batch, uncompromising beer-making and see how the city’s most inventive brews are crafted, from raw grain to clinking pint glass. First Craft Beer is opening its doors for a hands-on, guided tour that lets you peek behind the tanks, talk shop with the crew, and taste what’s fresh straight from the taps.
What You’ll Experience
A brewery team member leads a 60-minute walk-through of the production space, showing the tools, ingredients, and tech that power their innovative lineup. You’ll learn the essentials of independent brewing: malt and hop selection, yeast choices, water profiles, and how styles take shape through process. The tour lays out the full journey from milling to mashing, boiling, fermenting, conditioning, and packaging, so you can connect every sip with a step in the craft.
Tasting Perks at the Taproom
Each ticket includes a flexible tasting of 4×2 dl pours in the taproom linked to the brewery. That’s four eight-ounce samples, and you choose what to try at the bar. If something else catches your eye, the vouchers can be used for takeaway beers or exchanged for other alcoholic or alcohol-free drinks. The taproom is open before, during, and after tours, so show up early or hang out afterward to keep exploring the lineup fresh from the tanks.
Arrival, Food, and Practicalities
Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your start time. There’s no hot kitchen on site, but you can order delivery through foodora, Wolt, and similar services. The tour is offered five times across three days each week: Thursday 19:00; Friday 19:00; Saturday 15:00, 16:45, and 18:30. After buying your ticket, you can book a slot—an order number is required to reserve and confirm. Your order number will arrive by email after purchase. Purchased tickets are valid for one year from the date of purchase. The organizers reserve the right to change times and program details.
Tickets and What’s Included
Brewery tour for one person: 7,500 HUF (about 20.40 USD). Your ticket covers the approximately 60-minute guided tour and 4×2 dl of draft beer in the taproom. Booking is only possible once you have a valid ticket and order number.
Inside the First Craft Beer Mindset
First Craft Beer has been going strong since opening in 2017, setting its sights on becoming one of Hungary’s leading indie breweries—not just through volume or revenue, but by championing quality drinking and constant innovation aligned with global trends. With brewmaster Máté Ábrahám on board since 2018, the team releases more than 25 new beers on average each year. Many are one-off batches designed to debut new styles, ingredients, and techniques—a steady stream of experimentation that has cemented the brewery’s role as a key player in Hungary’s craft scene.
Styles, Awards, and Community
Their trophy case spans long-loved IPA variants and today’s in-demand sour ales, with award-winning, memorable releases in both camps. But the mission isn’t just brewing. Since opening the Újpest Taproom, tens of thousands have visited for tours and tastings led by the brewery crew, learning not only how beer is made but where modern styles are headed. It’s all in service of a shift from quantity to quality, where beer earns its place as the centerpiece of a social moment.
