Betyár Days takes over Kondoros on July 10–11, 2026, beside the historic Kondoros Inn (Kondorosi Csárda) at 23 Hősök Street (Hősök útja 23). The outlaws ride again at the mysterious betyár hideout, built around 1740 at the crossing of eight roads, where whip-cracking, horse shows, and hearty food meet pure Great Plain (Alföld) tradition. Admission is free.
Friday Highlights
Kick off Friday from 1:00–2:00 PM with Rózsa Sándor’s Pogácsa baking contest at the Fehérliliom Folk College (Fehérliliom Népfőiskola), then a charitable grain drive at 4:00 PM for Bread of Hungarians – 15 Million Grains of Wheat 2026 (Magyarok kenyere – 15 millió búzaszem). From 4:30–5:00 PM, the Dirty Bikers Association (Piszkos Motorosok) gathers riders for a bike blessing led by Lutheran pastor Tibor Tuska. Balance Aerobic Club performs from 5:00–5:30 PM. At 6:00 PM, homemade delicacies compete inside the Kondoros Inn’s (Kondorosi Csárda) Nádas Hall. Local rock lands from 6:30–7:30 PM with Kondorosi BetyáRock, followed by Barna Pély’s Half a Century Later mega-concert (Pély Barna – Félévszázad után) from 9:00–10:10 PM. The Betyár Party runs 10:15 PM–3:00 AM with DJ Pége and DJ Pé-El.
Saturday Tradition & Spectacle
Wake-up call at 7:30 AM with the István Széchenyi Horse Breeding Association and the Szarvas Brass Band; the cooking contest fires up at 8:00 AM on Széchenyi Square. The brass band plays 9:00–9:30 AM, then the Körös Valley Chivalric Band (Körösök Völgye Vitézi Bandérium) presents a betyár show 9:30–10:00 AM. A csikós horseman tribute honoring Sándor Oszter runs 10:00–11:00 AM, followed by the Kondoros Pearls (Kondorosi Gyöngyök) folk dancers 11:00–11:30 AM. The Betyár Day Festive March starts at 11:30 AM; opening ceremony and Key to the City at noon; then a communal feast 12:30–1:00 PM with Shepherds’ Feast in Abundance (Pásztorok lakomája gazdagon). The Bandérium returns 1:30–2:00 PM; Daisy of Kondoros (Kondorosi Százszorszép) performs 2:00–3:00 PM; Chován Kálmán Art School (Chován Kálmán AMI) Scottish dance and táncház 3:00–3:50 PM.
