July: Music, boats, ponies, and late-night beats

Kick off July 9 in Balf (9494), gliding through the Fertő reed beds by canoe—then repeat the serene adventure on July 14, 16, 21, 28, and 30. On July 10, schoolkids can saddle up at the Pony Club in Nagycenk (9485), while Fertőd (9431) hosts Haydneum’s chamber concerts spiced with verbunkos: Part I with Haydn, Kalkbrenner, Mendelssohn, and Mozart. The wild Hanyi Safari debuts July 10 and runs all season on select dates. July 11 brings Pony Club for kindergarteners at Széchenyi Palace in Nagycenk, Fröccs & Beats 2.0 in Harka (9422), Haydneum’s Verbunkos Part II in Fertőd, a musical romp Anconai szerelmesek (Lovers of Ancona) staged by Sopron Petőfi Theatre (Soproni Petőfi Színház) in Fertőrákos (9421), and a guided palace tour in Fertőd on early modern cures: quacks, barbers, doctors.
On July 17, Haydneum launches Haydn and Mozart in Eszterháza I—symphonies and a piano concerto—while Fertőrákos lights up with Legendák! The Big Musical Show from Sopron Petőfi Theatre.
