Lillafüred’s beloved chairlift is back with a summer program for every generation, floating visitors over the forested folds of the Bükk Mountains and straight into sweeping vistas. The Lillafüred Chairlift departs from the resort area and glides toward Jávor Hill (Jávorhegy) in the direction of Bükkszentkereszt, revealing a panorama stitched with Natura 2000–protected landscapes. It’s quiet, green, and safe—plus a real curiosity for travelers who like their views served with altitude.
The lower station sits at 1,093 feet and carries passengers to the hilltop at 1,988 feet, covering 3,543 feet in about 16–18 minutes. With a capacity of more than 180 people at a time, it keeps the scenery moving without the lines dragging. From the upper station, Bükkszentkereszt is an easy 1.36 miles away if you’re lacing up for a walk.

Night of the Chairlifts: July 11
Mark July 11 for a late, lantern-glow ascent during Night of the Chairlifts (Libegők Éjszakája) in Miskolc. It’s the same glide, just more magic—forests dimming into silhouettes, the ridgelines turning ink blue, and the valley lights flickering on beneath your seat.
Lillafüred, Evergreen Favorite
Childhood classic, forever crush: Lillafüred is the kind of place you keep coming back to. Think jaw-dropping views of Hungary’s highest vertical-drop waterfall, the neo-Renaissance palace on the shore of Lake Hámori (Hámori-tó), the flower-laced promenade around the Palace Hotel (Palotaszálló), and the terraced Hanging Garden. Winter or summer, fresh spring green or riot-of-color autumn, it’s a North Hungary gem that rewards a proper linger. Take time for yourself—or the two of you—reset in a soothing setting, and stack up one-off memories.
What Else Is On
Miskolc keeps the chairlift spirit rolling throughout July 13–19, July 20–26, and July 27–August 2, 2026—ideal windows if you miss the first week or want to avoid the crowd surge around Night of the Chairlifts.
Heads-Up: Adventure Park Status
The Lillafüred Sports and Adventure Park is currently not operating, but its snack bar and playground are open and welcoming on weekends. Expect a buffet-style lineup of bites and drinks, easygoing outdoor vibes, and space for kids to run off their sugar rush. Spring’s here—breathe deep, hit the playground, and refuel at the snack counter.
