Palic is gearing up for four packed days of culture, music, and family fun as the fifth Nyárhangoló Festival takes over the lakeside from July 9 to 12, 2026. This year’s edition brings standout creators, musicians, writers, and performers from Vojvodina and Hungary closer to the public, with exhibitions, concerts, theater, gastronomy, and a bustling craft fair running all weekend along the shore of Lake Palic (Palics).

Three Exhibitions Open the Festival

The festival launches on Thursday with a trio of exhibition openings. Visitors can dive into László Nagy Perge’s Beneath the Surface (Felszín alatt) at the Music Pavilion at 16:00, introduced by journalist Bella Bartus. At 17:00, the Vigadó terrace hosts the opening of Zsanett Godnics Bakos’s Pulse (Lüktetés), moderated by journalist Dianna Dér. At 18:00, the Vigadó’s left-wing terrace unveils Gyula Bezzeg’s I’m from Vojvodina (Vajdasági vagyok), guided by journalist and photographer Zsófia Szerda. All three shows remain open throughout the festival.

Friday: Grand Opening, Market Buzz, and Late-Night Dance

Friday kicks off the main stage program with a festive opening at 16:00 on the square in front of the Vigadó, featuring the Timi & Dani Acoustic Duo. From 16:00 to midnight, the promenade between the Vigadó and the Women’s Beach turns into a lively corridor of Vojvodina craft stalls, a wine alley, and regional gastronomy exhibitors. Kids get their own playground zone beside the Blue Vase lawn from 17:00 to 21:00 with the Wonder Wood play area, face painting by Edit Fekete, glitter tattoos, hair wraps with Zoé Miskei, plus Ready! Set! Play! (Vigyázz! Kész! Játssz!) led by Mónika Sarnyai and Ágota Sutus from 19:00.

At 18:00, the Park’s small stage hosts Storytelling Voices (Mesélő Hangok) by Regina Szabó and Dániel Óvári, while a 360° camera experience spins up on the promenade near the Vigadó until 21:00. Comedian and actor Angéla Stefanovics brings her solo show Csillagkapucsengő Bt. to the Summer Stage at 19:00. The Timi & Dani Acoustic Duo returns for a 20:00 concert on the Park’s small stage, followed by Luma Dui lighting up the Main Stage from 21:00 to 22:30. An LED show with artists from the Bolero Dance Club illuminates the Park’s small stage at 22:40. The night wraps with a táncház folk dance at the Vigadó terrace from 23:00 to midnight, played by the Juhász Band (Juhász Zenekar) with dance instructors Nikolett Szakál and Tamás Szakács.

Saturday: Literature, Operetta, Flamenco, and Disco

Saturday expands the family lineup from 17:00 to midnight with the craft market, wine alley, and gastronomic stalls along the same promenade. The Blue Vase lawn turns into a kids’ paradise again from 17:00 to 21:00: Wonder Wood playground, face painting by Edit Fekete, glitter tattoos with Tímea Pejic, hair tattoos by Attila Csikós, plus The Dumpling Jumped Out… (Kiugrott a gombóc…) for babies and toddlers led by Judit Fazekas from 17:00.

At 17:00, the Owl Castle (Bagolyvár) main stage hosts a riotous literary concert for children by singer Eszter Bíró and poet Dániel Varró. A family juggling workshop lands by the Blue Vase plaza from 18:15 to 19:00, while caricaturist Emese Török sketches live in Palic Park from 18:00 to 21:00. The 360° camera returns on the promenade during the same hours. Readers can meet authors Róbert Hász and Zoltán N. Nagy at the Vigadó terrace from 18:00 to 19:00, in a talk moderated by journalist Zoltán Brasnyó. Meanwhile, an Elvis Presley living statue roams Palic Park from 18:00 to 21:00.

Operetta takes the Summer Stage from 19:00 to 21:00 with Countess Maritza (Marica grófnő) performed by artists of the Hungarian Musicians’ Theater (Magyar Zenész Színház). Flamenco flares on the Park’s small stage at 20:00 with El Gusto Del Flamenco by Antonija Dulić and Róbert Gyivánovity. The Owl Castle main stage roars from 21:00 to 22:30 with the Mosaic Party Band, and the night surrenders to a disco with DJ RAWER at the Vigadó terrace from 23:00 to midnight.

Sunday: Theater, Film, Magic, and a Big Finale

Sunday blends theater, film, and a grand closing. At 16:30, the Vigadó great hall stages Anna Varsányi’s Moreover (Ráadásul), performed by Krisztina Kónya and Annamária Szilágyi. The market hums again from 17:00 to midnight along the promenade, while the Blue Vase lawn hosts the kids’ zone from 17:00 to 21:00 with Wonder Wood, face painting by Edit Fekete, glitter tattoos by Emese Török, colorful festival tattoos, and a craft workshop with Debóra Kosányi from 18:00. The 360° camera runs 18:00 to 21:00 near the Vigadó.

From 18:00 to 20:00, head to the Vigadó terrace for the screening of the documentary In the Footsteps of Bartók (Bartók nyomában), followed by a talk with production manager Réka Csoóri Bányai, performer and folk musician Tilla Török, producer Csaba Farkas, and director Kálmán Kázsmér, moderated by journalist Ildikó Orosz. Magic takes the Summer Stage from 19:30 with The Theatre of Illusion – Balázs V. Kiss. The Owl Castle main stage hosts the big closing concert by VALMAR from 21:00 to 22:15, and DJ Dave Pavlo powers the final disco on the Vigadó terrace from 22:30 to midnight.

Throughout all four days, families can browse a vibrant craft fair, taste Vojvodina wines and regional delicacies, and jump into creative kids’ programs; face painting; glitter and hair tattoos; live caricature drawing; and interactive experiences. With culture, music, literature, theater, and hands-on workshops braided into a single lakeside celebration, Nyárhangoló turns Palic into one of the region’s most irresistible summer escapes—offering entertainment, community, and memorable moments for every generation.
