Families flock to Siófok in 2026 for a bright, busy calendar of children’s events across the city on Lake Balaton’s sunny south shore. The lineup mixes pirate-themed boating fun, open-air story theater, crafty terrace workshops, and free Monday night concerts at the harbor. Expect color, music, make-and-take sessions, and plenty of play all season long at multiple venues around 8600 Siófok.
Set sail: Pirate ships and magic at sea
The Gyerekhajó (Kids’ Boat) cruises kick off July 11 and return July 18, July 25, and August 1. On board, young sailors meet pirates and magicians, hunt for treasure, learn tricks, and dive into games and laughter together on deck. The cruises operate on the “Lakes and Rivers” (Tavak és folyók) waters by Siófok, promising a breezy break from the shore and just the right dose of swashbuckling make-believe.
Hands-on crafts on the library terrace
The BRTK Library’s children’s department hosts Summer Handicraft Wonders (Nyári ké(s)zcsodák)—free craft workshops on the terrace—every Monday and Thursday, 10:00–12:00 and 15:00–17:00. July dates include July 13, 16, 20, 27, and 30, with more on tap through the summer. Kids can drop in, create, and take their handiwork home, from simple makes to skill-building projects that keep little hands busy and imaginations buzzing.
Stories on the steps: Paper Theater (Papírszínház)
On July 14 at 16:30, the BRTK Library stairway becomes a tiny stage for Staircase Tales (Lépcsőmesék) with Paper Theater (Papírszínház), the traditional Japanese-style paper theater. Families gather on the steps for intimate storytelling where illustrated cards slide in and out of a wooden frame, bringing tales to life in a rhythmic, close-up format perfect for young listeners.
Free Monday concerts at the harbor
The Vacation Children’s Concerts 2026 (Vakációs gyermekkoncertek 2026) series lights up the Siófok Harbor (Siófok Hajóállomás) with back-to-back craft zones, skill games, and interactive music—all free. July 20: MariannaArt hands-on fun from 17:30–21:00, followed by Paár Julcsi Hangoló’s Enchanted Forest (Kerekerdő) fairytale concert and dance house, 19:00–20:30. August turns up the volume: August 3 features Lavender Playhouse and Creative Workshop (Levendula Játszóház és Alkotóműhely) 17:30–21:00, and Lóca Ensemble (Lóca Együttes) on stage 19:00–20:30. August 10 repeats with Levendula’s creative playground 17:30–21:00, followed by Julcsi Laposa and Friends (Laposa Julcsi és barátai) with an interactive concert and dance house 19:00–20:30. On August 17, Levendula runs 17:30–20:00, then Szilvia Bognár: Titoktok charms from 18:00–19:30. Bring a blanket, settle by the boats, and let the evening breeze carry the music.
