Between July 10 and 19, the Rosé, Riesling and Jazz Festival (Rozé, Rizling és Jazz Fesztivál) pairs Balaton wines with nightly jazz shows, while guided castle walks, documentary nights, and world-class concerts keep the rhythm going well beyond July.
VeszprémFest: Global Headliners in an Intimate Setting
The city’s flagship VeszprémFest returns July 15–18 with a heavyweight lineup. JUANES kicks things off on July 15, with tickets from 18,900–26,900 HUF (about 52–74 USD). The same weeklong festival pass range is listed as 2,000–26,900 HUF (6–74 USD), with individual nights sprinkled throughout. Blues-rock powerhouse Beth Hart performs July 16. Film Nights: A Thousand Years of Heritage
Fridays at 17:00, the Archbishop’s Palace (Érseki Palota) hosts “1000 Years of Heritage – The Renewal of the Veszprém Castle District” (“1000 év öröksége – A veszprémi várnegyed megújítása”), a documentary screening on the renewal of the castle district. MiniPianoFest: Music Meets Poetry in a Courtyard
On Saturday, July 18 at 19:00, the Eötvös Károly Library’s inner courtyard hosts MiniPianoFest, a free outdoor evening (moved indoors if it rains) of modern classical, ambient-tinged piano and literature. The vibe is slow, intimate, and reflective—beanbags, a drink in hand, soft electronics, sketching or reading as the city noise fades. Three pianists shape the atmosphere, with short readings between sets to echo the music’s mood.
French-born pianist-composer CHARMEY (Marc Charmet), trained at Paris’s École Normale de Musique and based in Budapest, blends Erik Satie, Yann Tiersen, and Nils Frahm influences—minimalist, emotionally deep motifs with space and silence. His debut Monotonies arrived in 2024, followed by Délicates in March 2025 on Siril Records. He founded Budapest’s Le Salon de Musique ambient/modern classical series and often improvises live. Reader: Anna Bognár, a Hungarian–Italian scholar and award-winning poet focused on Giacomo Leopardi and Miklós Hubay.
Vienna-based Flora Kapeller appears as pianist, composer, and media music creator, citing Hania Rani, Tigran Hamasyan, Hildur Guðnadóttir, and Ludwig Göransson as inspirations. Andor Sanderson leads a contemplative “music and literature” set—piano ambient with spoken word by Mercédesz Kónya, a gentle inner journey where words and sound merge.
Street Sounds, Literary Courtyards, and Castle Walks
From July 22–25, the Íródeák Arts Courtyard (Íródeák Művészeti Udvar) transforms the Íródeák Café & Teahouse courtyard into an arts hub. July 23–25, the Veszprém Street Music Festival (Veszprémi Utcazene Fesztivál) fills the city with buskers and bands. Guided castle walks run July 14–19, July 21–26, July 28–August 2, and throughout August (Aug 4–9, 11–16, 18–23, 25–30).

Musical Evenings at the Church of Saint Margaret of the House of Árpád (Zenés esték az Árpád-házi Szent Margit-templomban) returns August 2 at 20:00 with organist Szilveszter Rostetter; admission is free, donations welcome. The Auer Festival (Auer Fesztivál) runs August 3–9, celebrating classical virtuosity. The 30th Cell-Cup Veszprém International Handball Festival takes place August 13–19. Summer camps at the March 15 Street Branch Library (Március 15. utcai fiókkönyvtár) run July 13–17. From August 10–14, the Eötvös Károly Library’s youth wing (ZUG, Komakút Square/Tér 3) hosts a day camp for ages 10–14. Teams of four tackle strategy, logic, and skill games, with excursions to Bakonybél and Nagyvázsony, interactive learning, and a sampler of teen programs at the library.
