July 17: Heatwave – A Musical Comedy
Heatwave lands in Tác on July 17 with a fast, funny, and heartfelt road-trip comedy about midlife women facing down menopause. It leans into self-irony and laughter, and, yes, the men who have their backs. Expect big humor wrapped around very real challenges, and a reminder that solidarity and a good joke can take the temperature down. Tickets run from about $22 to $24 in Tác.
July 25: Holnap hajnalig – Year-End Show
Back in Tác on July 25, Holnap hajnalig celebrates with a greatest-hits night of Neoton, one of Hungary’s most enduring pop touchstones. It’s a crowd-pleaser designed to send you home humming “Santa Maria” and the rest. Tickets are a flat $12.
July 31: Lánybúcsú – The Musical
On July 31, Lánybúcsú brings another women-led crowd favorite to Tác. This time the plot twists smooth out thanks to a man in the mix, with the story propelled by beloved songs made famous by Bódi László (Cipő) and Republic, along with anthems like Repül a bálna, Szállj el kismadár, and Neked könnyű lehet. Playful, pop-drenched, and built to sing along. Tickets go from about $18 to $24.
August 8: Meztelen igazság – A Musical Comedy
August 8 strips things down with Meztelen igazság, following six very different women who sign up for a confidence-boosting pole-dance class. They’re not just there for the moves. As friendships form and secrets surface, they learn to love their bodies, then take a bold leap: a charity performance that means baring their souls and, yes, their clothes. It’s witty, liberating, and laser-focused on self-acceptance and the power of women supporting women. Tickets run about $18 to $24.
August 30: Film Hits – ABBA & How Could I Live Without You
Wrap August with a big-screen-inspired show in Tác on August 30, blending ABBA hits from the Mamma Mia films and songs from the film Hogyan tudnék élni nélküled (How Could I Live Without You). The Zsigmond Lala Musical Studio’s amateur ensembles from Székesfehérvár and Győr deliver a 1 hour 40 minute spectacle fit for pop nostalgists and movie-music fans. Tickets are about $13.
Beyond Gorsium: Summer to Winter in Székesfehérvár
Plan a longer cultural wander. In Székesfehérvár, recurring adventures pepper July through December: Titkos helyek (Hidden Places), a hidden-corners tour of the historic downtown; Wathay-kód (Wathay Code), a history-steeped escape room; and the TOTUS TUUS exhibition on the life and historical impact of Saint John Paul II. Torchlit Titkos túra (Secret Tour) night walks pop up on July 17, 24, 31; August 7, 14, 21; and across later months. The Sirtaki dance group brings Greek flair outside the King Saint Stephen Museum (Szent István Király Múzeum), Rendház, on July 15, and EscoBar hosts a sax-soaked summer evening on July 17.
August lights up with the Alba Regia Jazz Festival (August 7–9) and the beloved Királyi Napok (Royal Days) series, including open City Hall nights, a bustling downtown fair, and large-scale light projections on the City Hall façade from August 14–23. As late summer yields to autumn, the Fehérvári Lecsófőző Vigasság (Fehérvár Lecsó Cooking Festival) spices up September 12.

Stay and Dine in Style
Extend your trip in aristocratic calm at a Neoclassical mansion set in a 124-acre park. Rooms in the north and south wings bear the names of the old count’s family and the gems of the Bakony. The kitchen serves Hungarian and French specialties with plate, platter, and buffet service. Expect a warm welcome, whisper-quiet surroundings, and ceilings that remember centuries.
However you map it, Gorsium and its neighbors make a persuasive case for a summer and fall spent mixing ruins with revelry, night skies with neon, and ancient stones with new stories.
