For three weeks in September, six cities will come alive with over a dozen programs as part of Synagogue Week, inviting everyone to explore Jewish religion, culture, and vibrant community life. From September 7 to 28, the festival offers a packed schedule featuring art and culinary experiences, talks, concerts, and even religious holidays open to all.
Music, Rituals, and Tradition
Visitors can look forward to a unique musical treat from the world-famous Zorger Israeli Cantor Choir performing at the Óbuda Synagogue (Óbuda). In Saint Andrew (Szentendre), an open Shabbat will welcome guests, with Rabbi Myers Mendy guiding everyone through the depth of the Orthodox Saturday ceremony. Festivities will also extend into City Hall Park, creating moments where tradition meets public celebration.
From cultural flavors to spiritual discovery, Synagogue Week promises a rare opportunity to experience Jewish heritage from new perspectives across Hungary.
