Inspired by last year’s buzz, the Abbey Beer Festival (Mustra) returns to Tihany from October 3 to 5, 2025, this time unveiling the brand-new Abbey Brewery. Four monastic breweries will pour their best: Tihany Benedictine Abbey (Tihanyi Bencés Apátság), Pannonhalma Archabbey Brewery (Pannonhalmi Főapátság Sörfőzde), Győr Abbot’s Beer House (Győri Apátúr Sörház), and, making its debut, Csorna Premonstratensian Abbey (Csornai Premontrei Apátság) from Türje.
Unmissable Lineup & Activities
Friday kicks off at 5:00 PM, followed by a concert on the Rege Courtyard (Rege Udvar) stage at 7:00 PM. Saturday brings non-stop action: opening at 1:50 PM, then historic beer talks, debut tastings (Csorna Premonstratensian at 3:30 PM), followed shortly by the others, and another concert from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Kids can color giant autumn murals all day, while the Abbey Rege Confectionery (Apátsági Rege Cukrászda) serves tasty treats.
Sunday Funday: Draining the Barrels
Wrap up on Sunday (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM) by finishing off the last drops at the “Crumb Party.” This year’s hot addition: tasting tickets! Not required, but they offer a new way to sample the beers. The event is open and free for everyone in Tihany.
