Africa Soundwave Festival storms into Babel Garden (Babel Kert) from Tuesday, June 23 to Saturday, June 27, packing five nights of West African tradition, Afrobeat, Afro-pop, and cutting-edge electronics. It’s a full-spectrum trip through groove, roots, and dance-floor futurism, all under open skies.

Who’s On Stage

Ogun Afrobeat fire up hybrid Afrobeat laced with jazzy swerves and funk grit, dialing in horn-led heat and deep percussion. From Senegal, Ibrahima Cissokho & Mandingue Foly bring high-octane vocals, kora textures, and racing rhythms built for call-and-response euphoria. The Kanazoé Orchestra centers on virtuoso balafon wizardry—spark-shower melodies riding tight polyrhythms that flip from trance to lift-off in seconds.

Roots, Voice, Finale

Guinean-born Nakany Kanté channels ancestral pulse into modern songcraft, her voice moving from velvet hush to rallying cry without losing the earthy heartbeat beneath. Closing night belongs to Morgane Ji from Réunion: a fearless blend of Afro-rock muscle and electronic bite, splicing riff-heavy energy with synth-driven tension to slam the festival door with a grin and a growl.
