“American Comedy” (Amerikai komédia) returns in a swing musical adaptation, courtesy of Veres 1 Theater (Veres 1 Színház) in 2025. After its October premiere, this jazz-age romp will tour the country at some of the theater’s most popular venues. Audiences can catch the fun in Veresegyhaz (Veresegyház) and Gyor (Győr), where the show will continue its run.
Classic Comedy Gets a New Groove
The musical draws inspiration from Károly Aszlányi’s hit 1930s stage play. Playwright Attila Lőrinczy wrote the script and lyrics, while Bálint Bársony, the Artisjus and Fonogram award-winning composer and saxophonist, crafted the toe-tapping score. It’s a story packed with wit and playful energy, directed in its new form by Károly Peller.
