Siófok isn’t letting autumn pass quietly this year. The lakeside town rolls out a non-stop calendar of events, where street food feasts meet cultural festivals, wild city games, and Halloween festivities.
An Apple a Day: Autumn BalaParty – Apple Festival on the Great Beach
The weather might be cooling, but Siófok’s main beach isn’t slowing down. From October 24–25, apples take center stage at the Autumn BalaParty – Apple Festival (Almafest). Expect games of skill, fun competitions, an apple market loaded with local varieties, and plenty of apple-based sweets for tasting. Kids and families will love the crafts area, a magic show, and the return of the popular Straw Maze. On October 25, the main attraction is a concert by ALMA EGYÜTTES (Hungary’s legendary children’s band), and you can help build a towering apple pyramid. The party runs from 2 PM to 10 PM on the 24th, and 10 AM to 3 PM the next day, with a schedule promising even more surprises.
Culinary Sundays: Balaton Gourmet Market at Piroska
Sunday mornings at Piroska Csárda and Inn (Csárda és Fogadó), from 9 AM to noon, are for food lovers. Local producers and artisans set up shop with fantastic goods, filling the restaurant’s event room with flavors, colors, and aromas. Fresh treats await market-goers, and if all the browsing makes you hungry, the Piroska kitchen is ready to serve you Balaton classics. The Sunday market runs weekly, so you can return for more.

Mark November 27 at 7 PM for a lively City Day quiz night at Lógó Üveg Kult Pub (Kult Kocsma). Kálmán Imre Memorial Days: Operetta, Conversations & Free Tours
October 22–26 brings the 18th Kálmán Imre Memorial Days (Kálmán Imre Emléknapok), a festival rich in music and history honoring Siófok’s iconic composer. Highlights include a musical operetta evening with Tímea Tieger and Tibor Krezinger, the grand operetta “Csárdás Queen” (“Csárdáskirálynő”), exclusive artist talks, and Pozsgai Zsolt’s dynamic two-part musical play “Jávor’s Dawns” (“Jávor hajnalai”). The festival wraps up with “Dear Wife, Give Me a Little Time Off” (“Asszonykám, adj egy kis kimenőt”), an evening of musical humor and cabaret. On October 24, the Kálmán Imre Memorial House opens its doors for free guided tours all day. Tickets for events are $9.50–$10.85.

With thrilling city sightseeing games from October 20–26, October 27–November 2, and November 3–16, you can explore local landmarks in an interactive, team-based adventure—perfect for friends or families seeking something different.
Meanwhile, boat cruises operate daily on the Siófok–Balatonfüred–Tihany route during autumn break (October 23–November 2) at 11:00, 12:30, 14:00, and 15:30. Children aged 6–11 ride free with a stamped Kajla passport and student ID.
Literature, Learning, and Parent Power
Book lovers and families have plenty to look forward to. On October 29, bestselling author Bán Mór (János Bán), creator of the popular Hunyadi series, joins Mayor Dr. Róbert Lengyel for a free meet-and-greet at BRTK Library at 5 PM.
Parents can tune in to the Gen21 Parenting Academy’s first session on October 30, exploring how digital screens affect young children’s mental and physical health. Topics range from cognitive concerns to forming healthy habits, offering vital advice for the first six years of a child’s life.
Spooktacular Halloween: From Pumpkin Carving to After-School Monsters
Halloween isn’t just one night in Siófok. On October 31, the annual Pumpkin Carving Competition at the Great Beach gets a fresh twist—pure fun and creative prizes for the coolest carvings (starts at 11:00 AM). That afternoon, the children’s library turns into Monster HQ, welcoming witches, ghosts, vampires, and would-be woodland creatures for a costume party and crafts session. Registration is required, but attendance is free for everyone, no matter how spooky.
Taste & Win: GasztroFok and Prize Draws
From November 1–15, food adventurers can join the GasztroFok Stamp-Collecting Prize Game. Hold onto your spring stamp cards; collect all five during the autumn weekends and enter to win gourmet gifts donated by local gastronomic partners. Cards can be submitted at the Tourinform office or sent as photos by November 15. The prize draw will be held on November 18.
The main GasztroFok Autumn celebration happens November 8–9, when Siófok’s restaurants roll out special tasting menus featuring local producers from every corner of the city. The event aims to make Balaton a year-round culinary destination, winning over guests’ palates and hearts.
