Once again, the picturesque Kvassay Promenade in Balatonföldvár (Balatonföldvár) transforms into a food lover’s paradise with the sixth Földvár Cauldron Festival (Földvári Bográcsfeszt) running from August 15 to 23, 2025. Expect thrilling cooking competitions, a huge selection of beers, and plenty of entertainment as tradition and fun ignite the southern shore of Lake Balaton.
Festivities From Day One
The festival springs into action on Friday, August 15, opening at 4:00 pm. Early visitors can enjoy live music from the Sladek Duo at 7:00 pm, followed by DJ Keszthely at 10:00 pm. Saturday features a beer-drinking contest, a lifeguard demonstration, music by the Benetton Band, and a late-night set from DJ Tamás Németh X Paul Jr.
Cooking Battles & Tasty Traditions
Sunday brings the crowd-favorite cauldron cooking competition (Bogrács cooking competition). Teams of up to 10 can enter by sending a private message with their team name, number of members, and the dish they plan to make. There is no entry fee; just bring your own ingredients—everything else is provided. Winners will be announced at 8:00 pm, right before performances by SKA Band, the Pelso Trio, and DJ Barkas.
From Monday through the following Saturday, daily cooking contests continue alongside fashion, art, and design at the Balaton Summer Market (Balatoni Nyári Vásár), beer tastings by certified specialists, and themed presentations about food, culture, and history.
Nights Packed With Music & Surprises
Each evening features a mix of live acts, from duos to retro disco, a firework display on Wednesday, and dance parties late into the night. Whether trying your hand at a simultaneous chess game with Candidate Master József Jeszenszky, enjoying lifeguard demonstrations, or relaxing at the Balaton Piano Bar, there’s always something happening.
A Finale to Remember
On Saturday, August 23, the festival wraps up with the Exhibitors’ and Organizers’ Cooking Contest, another lifeguard demonstration, a special talk by hospitality expert Gergely Csulak, a time capsule party, and music until after midnight with DJ Sokol. Nine days, endless flavors, and great memories on the shore of Lake Balaton.
