Classical, Opera and Big-Stage Nights
July 1, 8:30 p.m., the Evangelical Church on Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Street hosts organist Gergely Rákász with a Mozart program. July 2 brings the Duna Symphony Orchestra’s film music concert to the Balaton Leisure and Conference Center’s Open-Air Stage at 8 p.m. On July 9, at the Anna Grand Hotel ballroom, the Jókai–Klebelsberg Memorial Concert presents Bach, Mozart, and Brahms with violinist Anikó Áchim-Kovács and Kossuth Prize-winning pianist Endre Hegedűs, plus actor Pál Oberfrank reading from Count Kuno Klebelsberg’s centenary speech on Jókai. On July 15 at 6 p.m., Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin screens from the Metropolitan Opera at the House of Jewish Excellence with air-conditioning. OperaFüred’s operatic gala lands July 24.
