Balatonfüred is packing the calendar with festivals, concerts, comedy, art shows, sailing, family adventures, sunset party boats, and yoga on the lakefront. Many events offer online tickets, and programs roll across multiple venues around town.

June highlights: books, jazz, film, and lake life

June 12 at 18:00 brings Our Living Excellence (Velünk élő kiválóságaink) at the House of Jewish Excellence, featuring guest Professor Mihály Pósfai, academic and geologist from the University of Pannonia. The Book-Wine-Jazz Festival (Könyv-Bor-Jazz Fesztivál) pops June 12–13 with literature, wine, and live jazz. Daily Balatonfüred Scenic Boat Rides (Balatonfüredi sétahajózás) run June 8–12, then resume June 13–14, 15–18, 19–21, 22–25, and onward in weekly blocks. The Balatonfüred Cinema Program (Balatonfüredi moziműsor) cycles June 8–14, June 15–21, June 22–28, and continues weekly through summer.
June 13 delivers a free talk night, An Evening with Gabriella Jakupcsek (Egy este Jakupcsek Gabriellával) at Anna Grand Hotel (table booking recommended); a Literary Fashion Salon (Irodalmi divatszalon) with author Virág Vass at the Katti Zoób Fashion Museum (17:00); the 6th From Alpha to Omega Family Picnic (VI. Yoga on the promenade, exhibitions, and a sunset “Chill” boat

June 17 marks International Yoga Day on the water’s edge: 17:30 at Tagore Promenade, by the Széchenyi statue plaza. On June 18, the Bem Memorial Choir joins Gabriella Csikhon and Attila Sári for a summer-opening concert. June 19 opens two exhibitions: graphic artist Milán Takács’s From Matter to Light (Anyagból fénnyé) at Arács Community House (Arácsi Népház, Lóczy Lajos u. 62.), introduced by museum educator Orsolya Nyitrai with music by Levente Holb “Zsörk” (electronic, folktronica–downtempo). Works include digitally created paper collages, experimental images, design posters and logos, and analog photos; on view until August 24 during house hours (Mon, Thu 10:00–16:00; Wed 12:00–16:00). Also June 19 at 18:00, Andrea Weichinger’s Cloud and Water – Contemplation in the Landscape (Felhő és víz – szemlélődés a tájban) opens at the Huray Villas, followed by a free guitar concert by Gaspar Thorpe. July: sailing, salsa, open-air theater, and a comedy takeover

July opens with organist Gergely Rákász plays Mozart at the Lutheran Church (July 1, from $16.70). The elegant Anna Festival (Anna Fesztivál) runs July 21–26, culminating with the 201st Anna Ball (Anna-bál) on July 25. The White Ribbon – Szabolcs Izsák Memorial Regatta (Fehér Szalag – Szabolcs Izsák Emlékverseny) also sails July 25. Families can board a Kids’ Boat (Gyerekhajó) July 25, August 1, and August 8 for pirates, magicians, treasure hunts, and games on deck. Füred Art Week, an art market, fills July 24–26.
On stage July 28: Be Good Unto Death (Légy jó mindhalálig) by Pannon Castle Theatre (Pannon Várszínház) at the BSZKK Open-Air Stage (from $23.90). July 30–August 1, the 58th Raiffeisen Blue Ribbon Grand Prix (Kékszalag) — Europe’s largest circumnavigation regatta — takes over Lake Balaton.

August: wine weeks, theater, and big tributes

August cruising and cinema continue weekly. The Hungarian Sailing Federation’s Big-Boat Championship is August 6–9. Balatonfüred Wine Weeks (Balatonfüredi Borhetek) uncork August 7–30, turning the promenade into a tasting avenue of local cellars. Theater returns August 11 with The Jungle Book (A dzsungel könyve) at the BSZKK Open-Air Stage (from $23.90), and August 12 with A Wife Begins at Forty (A FELESÉG NEGYVENNÉL KEZDŐDIK) at the Open-Air Stage (from $25.10–$30.80).
