Balatonfüred packs its 2026 calendar with music, sailing, cinema, stand-up, kids’ shows, wine, and candlelit classics across beaches, galleries, boats, and open-air stages. Many tickets are available online, and programs run citywide at multiple venues from early July into late August, with highlights stretching into September.
Early July: Film, Boats, Salsa
From July 6–12, the Balatonfüred cinema program runs alongside daily boat excursions on the lake. The Hungarian Summer Salsa Festival turns the town into a dance floor from July 7–13. Cruises and screenings continue July 13–19, making the waterfront the week’s main stage.
Operetta, Comedy, Classics
On July 14, Ma még egy jót mulatunk! – Füred Operetta Sparkle in Two Acts shines at the Balatonfüred Congress Center at 8:00 p.m. Tickets start at about $15.20. The same night, Hyppolit, the Butler plays in two acts on the open-air stage, tickets from about $16.30.
July 15 brings Magical Opera Performances – Tchaikovsky: Eugene Onegin at the House of Jewish Excellence with a New York Metropolitan Opera performance screened in an air-conditioned auditorium, 6:00 p.m. Later, at 8:00 p.m., author-broadcaster András Kepes performs You’re Right! – a science-infused stand-up – at the Balaton Leisure Center.
Music Nights, Party Boats
On July 16, In the Spell of Schumann features Jenő Koppándy, Marcella M. Detvay, András Rudolf, Máté Tomasz, and Tamás Érdi in a joint evening, while Arács CourtyardCinema screens under the stars, and the Party Boat disco departs from the pier. Expect more party boats July 23 and 30, plus August 6 and 13.
Family Theater and Brass in the Garden
July 17 at 10:00 a.m., Journey on the Donkey Cart (Utazás a csacsifogaton) by the Békéscsaba Napsugár Puppet Theatre (Békéscsabai Napsugár Bábszínház) charms kids 4+ at the Kisfaludy Gallery (Kisfaludy u. 1). Tickets are about $5.50. Stories race from The Piglet and the Wolves (A kismalac és a farkasok) to The Three Hares (A három nyúl), directed by Zsóka Csortán, designed by Réka Lenkefi, performed by Örs Czumbil and Richárd Berndt. That evening, In Medias Brass fills the Vaszary Garden. Comedy takes over at the Leisure and Conference Center with Duma Jam (László Hadházi, András Péter Kovács, Gergely Litkai) from about $26.80, and István Dombóvári’s I Don’t Love You Anymore (Deszeretlek) hosted by István Bellus from about $21.20. Lake Challenges, Klezmer, Strolls
The 1st Hungarian International Klezmer Festival (I. Magyarországi Nemzetközi Klezmer Fesztivál) lands July 10–12. July 11 stacks major lake action with the Allianz Bay Swim and SUP Challenge (Allianz Öböl-átúszás és SUP Kihívás). Sunset Chill Boats sail July 11, 18, 25, 28, August 1, 4, 8, 11, 15, and 18, serving cocktails and views.
Big Laughs, Local Legends
On July 18, Dumaszínház rolls out All Stars lineups, László Hadházi’s 18+ The Right of the First Night (Az utolsó éjszaka joga), and a second All Stars featuring Péter Felméri, Zoltán Kőhalmi, and Eszter Ráskó. The same day brings Sakk Matt Company at Anna Café, a Story Picnic (Mesepiknik) in the Huray Villas courtyard at 6:00 p.m., and a guided Füred Rabbi synagogue walk with the House of Jewish Excellence. A July 19 gala celebrates flutist Eszter Horgas’s birthday in the Anna Grand Hotel ballroom at 8:00 p.m., part of Kisfaludy Theater Nights, with daughter Lili Mária Somogyi, husband Attila Fejszés, and Class Jazz Band. From July 19–21, new solo shows from Zoltán Kőhalmi and András Péter Kovács join the slate, plus László Hadházi’s The Brain of the World (A VILÁG ESZE) and Eszter Ráskó’s Sátántangó on July 20. Cruises and cinema run July 20–26. On July 21, László Lakatos’s I’m Here (Megjöttem), then DUMA AKTUÁL follows. July 21–26 ushers in the Anna Festival (Anna Fesztivál), leading to the grand 201st Anna Ball (Anna-bál) on July 25 alongside the Anna Ball Fair (Anna-báli Sokadalom).
Opera, Art, and Blue Ribbon Regatta
OperaFüred 2026 showcases an operatic gala July 24. Füred Art Week turns Balatonfüred into an art market July 24–26. The 58th Raiffeisen Blue Ribbon Grand Prix (Kékszalag Nagydíj), Europe’s oldest and largest round-the-lake sailing regatta, dominates July 30–August 1. On July 31, violinist Zoltán Mága presents We’re Just Sitting and Playing (Csak ülünk és zenélünk) at the Congress Center, while the Hot Jazz Band with Andrea Szulák lights up the open-air stage at 8:00 p.m., reviving the 1920s–30s with chic, storytelling swing.
Kids’ Ships, Workshops, Sparkling Evenings
Family-friendly Children’s Ship (Gyerekhajó) cruises return July 25 and August 1 and 8 with pirates, magicians, treasure hunts, and games on deck. The 6th Arács Sparkle (VI. Arácsi Pezsgés) fizzes on August 1. The EverBlue Workshop (Örökkék) revives indigo dyeing on August 1 at the Tourinform Office side room, sessions 10:00–13:00 and 15:00–18:00, for ages 4–99. Participation is about $27.60 per person.
Candlelight Classics and Auer Festival
A Candlelight Edition titled The Four Seasons bathes Balatonfüred’s Evangelical Church in thousands of flames on August 5; tickets from about $19.60. The Auer Festival hits the House of Jewish Excellence: Ádám Bősze’s talk on August 4 and the Korossy Quartet on August 5 (both from about $8.40). Another guided Füred Rabbi city walk runs August 7.
Blues, Wine, and HAVASI
Gyula Deák Bill’s Bad Blood tour storms the Leisure Center August 7 at 8:00 p.m., with guitar legend Tibor Tátrai as guest and György Ferenczi and the Rackajam opening. Balatonfüred Wine Weeks (Balatonfüredi Borhetek) pours August 7–30 along the Tagore Promenade. On August 9, Berry and Dolly (BOGYÓ és BABÓCA) brings an interactive puppet show to the open-air stage (about $10.90), while HAVASI unveils an all-new piano show at the Congress Center with tickets from about $27.60 to $55.40.
Musicals, Tributes, and Ballads
The Herend porcelain exhibition honors founder Mór Farkasházy Fischer’s legacy July 7–August 9 at the House of Jewish Excellence, spanning signature patterns, forms, Judaica, and Balatonfüred-inspired pieces. August 11 presents The Jungle Book (A dzsungel könyve) at the BSZKK open-air stage (about $23.30). On August 12, A Wife Begins at Forty (A FELESÉG NEGYVENNÉL KEZDŐDIK) plays outdoors ($24.40–$29.80). The Crazy Little Queen Tribute Band shakes the lakeside August 14 ($27.80–$33.30). August 15 brings Attila Kökény & Viktor Rakonczai – I See You Again… (Újra látlak…) under the Zenefüred banner, a summer-night live show set at about $46.90. Sailing, Kayaks, SUP, and More
Threaded through July–September are recurring adventures: Sailing tours (Vitorlástúra), kayak experience tours (Kajak élménytúra), and SUP yoga sessions (SUP jóga) on multiple dates, plus ongoing weekly cinema and cruise schedules. Family events, synagogue walks, party boats, and sunset chill cruises keep Balatonfüred buzzing well into late August, with select programs continuing across the county through year’s end.
