Kaáli Nagy Géza, the professor behind the Kaáli Institutes, has finally realized his long-held dream: building Hungary’s largest and most eclectic vehicle collection. Over the past few years, he has assembled a museum where vintage motorbikes and cars shine in tailor-made rooms, bathed in smart lighting and framed by period-correct decor. Restoration expert Nagy Péter’s handiwork is everywhere, and every machine looks ready to rumble.

Hungarian legends under one roof

Nowhere else in the world can you find this many Hungarian-made motorcycles together. In Dörgicse, the lineup runs deep: Méray 1000, WM Csepel, SHB, BM, Mátra, touring Csepel, Tünde, Panni, Berva, Danuvia, and the entire Pannónia family up to the P12 model made in 1975. Rare gems pop up too, like the Pannónia MC62 and the Danuvia DMC125. It’s a patriotic fever dream for two-wheel diehards, but the collection’s appeal is universal.

Century-old icons and star power

Global heavy-hitters share the stage: a 100-year-old Henderson DeLuxe purrs alongside an Indian PowerPlus. A pristine 1936 BSA Empire Star sits as it should—just like the one Nobel laureate Albert Szent-Györgyi rode across half of Europe. The roll call of icons keeps going: Zündapp KS600, NSU 601 TS, Matchless J Sport, Moto Guzzi Falcone Sport, Triumph Ricardo, Scott Super Squirrel, Imperia Model H, Norton Model 18, Ariel Red Hunter, BMW R51/3. Kaáli even repatriated his U.S.-bought Harley-Davidson FXR Low Rider (1987), barely broken in.

Personal history meets Eastern Bloc steel

Motorcycles from former socialist countries stand proudly among the classics, and the professor’s family bikes add a personal thread. Next to several machines, you’ll spot vintage family photos on the wall—memoir meets metal in the best way.

Everything runs, everything shines

Every vehicle is operational, presented in original mint, restored, or renewed condition. Hungarian and international experts helped scout and document the machines, with vehicle historian Dr. Pál Négyesi compiling the data plates. The rooms are purpose-built to echo the eras on display, and yes, the restoration finesse is unmistakably Nagy Péter’s throughout.

American diner vibes, with chrome

There’s even a classic American diner set—jukebox, Coca-Cola vending machine, iconic furniture—and period cars parked outside like it’s a time capsule on the Balaton shore.
