A walled old town, hands-on crafts, legends, and stirring performances: in 2026, Bikal Experience Estate (Bikali Élménybirtok) turns back the clock with interactive programs, knightly thrills, and music-filled shows for kids and adults. Families step into living history and become part of a medieval adventure where curiosity rules and nothing stays just on the stage. Bikal is ready with spring weekends packed with light sorcery, folklore, humor-laced lectures, and all-day discovery games across its 18.5-acre grounds.
March 9, 16, 23 — The Lightmaker – musical light magic unfolds a dazzling battle of light and shadow, good and evil, in an ever-turning cycle where one glow fades and another flares. Hungarian lighting technicians, using intelligent lamps and special sound effects, guide audiences into a timeless, boundless realm where imagination redraws space. Unique in Hungary, this sensory spectacle isn’t just a show; it’s a trance of rhythm, beam, and bloom that resets your inner clock.

March 11 — Witchcraft and Sorcery with Zina — the magic of present and past — dives into the world of medieval witches and cunning folk, while tracing the marks they’ve left today. Think gossip is harmless? In the Middle Ages, even a sharp tongue could bring consequences. Learn who the witches were, how persecutions started, and which charms still feel useful now. Do incantations work? By the end, the performer gifts you a charm for life, wrapped in wit. A production by Ágens Company (Ágens Társulat) and Bikal Experience Theater (Bikali Élményszínház).

March 14 — Adventures with the Star-Eyed Shepherd reimagines the classic folk tale through playful, experience-based theater. Kids don’t just watch; they jump into roles, move, laugh, and co-create the story from their own vantage point. The result is a shared, spirited tale-time that folds children right into the heart of the legend.

March 14, 10:30–17:00 — The estate celebrates with daylong activities: craft workshops, interactive games, animal encounters, and edutainment adventures bring the revolutionary spirit of 1848 close to every age. A standout show, Freedom, let us look into your eyes! – In memoriam 1848, blends live singing and mounted performers, featuring István “Luke” Orlik, Tina Zsolnai-Faragó, and Lídia Boudny. Arrive from 10:30 to catch it all.
In the estate’s workshops, masters demonstrate their trades and invite hands-on creation. In Ilona and Anikó’s craft studio, paint festive porcelain and make take-home home décor and textile ornaments. Zina’s playful lecture, History Faking – revolution, a bit differently, adds fresh angles to the commemoration. Explorer games and interactive houses nudge kids to move and question as they roam. March 18 — Lord’s Course, the counterpart to Courtesan Training (Kurtizánképző), is relationship stand-up where men (ideally with their partners) decode the mysteries of women — and themselves. Viewers rave, I’d put it on prescription! Expect humor and razor clarity as the show parses couple-speak: what she says and why — and yes, the reverse. You’ll meet the anatomy of an argument, the art of in-relationship overwriting, and the overthought move called I only love you. An Ágens Company (Ágens Társulat) and Bikal Experience Theater (Bikali Élményszínház) production.

In the Squire School building, browse award-winning leather jewelry and genuine leather goods, make your own piece with the goldsmith, learn glass-painting basics, and sit for a caricature portrait.
