Hop across Lake Balaton on a Sunday and make a beeline for the Káptalantóti Artisan Market (Káptalantóti Kézműves Piac). Depart either from Fonyód by fast boat or from Balatonfenyves aboard the Szent Benedek pleasure boat, glide into Badacsony, then shuttle by minibus to the market for a breezy 1.5-hour spree of shopping and free time. Trips run every Sunday, departing at 10:00 and returning by 15:00, on prearranged dates only.
Fonyód Route
Fast boat to Badacsony, minibus to the market, 1.5 hours to explore. Price: $25 per person. Minimum 10 participants (doesn’t apply to scheduled public services). Afternoon add-ons: choose either Folly Arboretum and Winery (Folly Arborétum és Borászat) for 1.5 hours of free time plus a tasting of three syrups or wines, or a Badacsony winery hop to Istvándy and Laposa with three-wine tastings at each cellar. Balatonfenyves Route
Sail from Balatonfenyves on the Szent Benedek, transfer in Badacsony, then take a minibus to the market for 1.5 hours. Price: $33 per person. Two afternoon upgrades mirror the Fonyód options: Folly with three syrup-or-wine tastings, or the Istvándy and Laposa winery duo with three tastings per winery. Add-on price: $57 per person. Minimum 15 participants (excludes scheduled services).
