2026’s seventh Boglart Festival lands on the Balaton shore from Wednesday, August 26 to Sunday, August 30, turning Babel Camp (8630 Balatonboglár, Szabadság utca 28.) into a laid-back folk and world music hub. It’s part festival, part folk music course, part music-industry forum and showcase: by day it’s all about learning; by night two stages rotate live bands, then the folk pub keeps the dancing going until dawn.
Boglart’s charm is the blend of camp and festival. It’s not just a run of gigs, but a creative, communal space where learning, music, and the Balaton summer click into a rare harmony. Year after year it stands out in both Hungarian and international lineups by fusing hands-on workshops with a full festival experience.
Freshly announced: Belgium’s Enara Navaira, Senegal’s Afrikora, Istria’s Veja, plus Hungarian names Okos Viola, Obadu, and host band Góbé. A Boglart signature: many performers also teach by day. Workshops range from Moldavian and string-folk techniques to practical music-industry know-how. Concert evenings close with táncház folk dance, then a world-electronic afterglow.
After last year’s buzz, the showcase block returns, bringing together domestic and international professionals to meet and brainstorm. First artist drops arrive in the second half of November; until then, festival passes, combo passes, 48-hour tickets, and day tickets are available at very low prices. New discounts apply for under-18s, over-64s, and teachers. If you’re joining the course or the showcase and qualify for a discount, mix discounted passes/day tickets with course passes/day tickets for the best deal. Free for kids under 10. Organizers reserve the right to change dates and programs.
