Unleashed creativity, weekly downtime, and a burst of inspiration await kids at the Hungarian National Gallery (Magyar Nemzeti Galéria)’s hands-on club at 2 Szent György Square (Szent György tér 2). December: Color It Again! Winter Stories
Dates: 12/03/2025, 12/10/2025, 12/17/2025, all 16:00–17:30. December’s Color It Again! workshops whisk kids off on a magical winter journey through standout works of Hungarian art. They’ll visit, in their imaginations, icy, snow-dusted landscapes and warm, cheerful homes, with a spellbinding story at each stop. The sessions double as holiday prep: expect encounters with Saint Nicholas, Mary, and baby Jesus. After gallery games and chats, everyone heads to the studio to create, inspired by the season’s tales.
Kids participate independently without chaperones. After the program, children are escorted back as a group to the information desk between 17:30–17:40.

January: Detective Work With Tihanyi
Dates: 01/07/2026, 01/14/2026, both 16:00–17:30. January turns curious minds into sleuths as mysterious stories echo through the galleries. Junior detectives follow the trail of a major painter, Lajos Tihanyi. They’ll closely examine dozens of works, hunting for hidden details that crack the case. If they’re sharp, the image comes together and the riddle unravels. Creation stays center stage: as part of the investigation, kids “forge” paintings, build a composite sketch, and experiment with photo manipulation.
