Budapest’s Museum of Fine Arts (Szépművészeti Múzeum) is rolling out guided tours across its permanent and temporary exhibitions, with a packed calendar from late January through mid-February 2026. Key Dates and Highlights
January 27 kicks off with Ancient China Up Close in Budapest, followed on January 28 by a Curator’s Tour of Guardians of Eternity (Az öröklét őrei). From January 30 to February 1, Ancient China Up Close returns, alongside Graphics Under the Magnifying Glass on January 31. The Ancient China program continues February 3, 4, 5–8, 10, and 12–15, with multiple sessions on some days.
On February 4, the Curator’s Tour of Guardians of Eternity repeats. February 11 brings an Unconventional Tour within Guardians of Eternity. Themed deep dives stack up in mid-February: on February 13, Love and Sexuality in Antiquity; Where Would the Soul Linger? – a slow tour; and A Masterful Selection of Masterpieces. February 14 features Saturday Sampler – Carnival Is Here; Is the “Coat” Waltzing?; plus Siesta – Walk and Create in the Museum | Love Stories; and Ancient China Up Close. On February 15: Eras in the Museum: Egyptian Gods Shining in the Sky, and another Ancient China session.
