Interactive time travel, retro-style

Dive into a fully hands-on retro vibe. Patrol a virtual Gazdagrét housing estate in an original LADA police car transformed into a simulator. Step into the set of a period Híradó newsroom and try your hand at being an anchor under two massive, original working TV cameras. Marvel at the type of spacesuit worn by Bertalan Farkas aboard Soyuz 36 and the personal items he took on the mission.

Phones, petrol, and pop culture

Pick up the receiver in five interactive phone booths to listen to period recordings. Snap selfies at the ÁFOR gas station where ValMar shot the “Úristen” music video. Explore top-tier ’80s and ’90s computing: the 64 kB Commodore personal computer, the Videoton TV-Game (Videoton TV-játék) console, and the coolest quartz handhelds of the time.

Quizzes, bistro, and a full-on retro city

Test your knowledge with fun quizzes on the Soviet–Hungarian spaceflight, MALÉV, period cars, and retro computing. Hungry time travelers can refuel at the cozy bistro with classic retro dishes and drinks—yes, Bambi is on the menu. Highlights include nine vintage motorcycles; three cars, including the LADA police sim; a faithfully furnished apartment evoking Szomszédok (Neighbors); a giant interactive mirror dressing you in retro outfits; and a period street with shops, a parade stand, cars, and that ÁFOR station. The spaceflight section brims with relics from the 1980 Soviet–Hungarian mission. The venue has hosted shoots by György Korda (Korda György) and Klári Balázs (Balázs Klári), DJ Junior, Neoton Família, stars of Total Dance, Hungária, many singers from A Dal (The Song), Feró Nagy (Nagy Feró), Peti Polgár (Polgár Peti), and Mary Nótár (Nótár Mary). Explore every nook—there’s loads to see.
