Budapest’s Virág Judit Gallery is opening its doors this holiday season with a trio of headline auctions spanning Zsolnay ceramics, postwar and contemporary works, and the milestone 80th Winter Auction. Collectors, first-time bidders, and art lovers are invited to the Hegyvidék space at 1123 Budapest, Jagelló út 1-3, and to the Budapest Congress Center for the main evening sale.

December 8: 80th Winter Auction

The 80th Winter Auction brings rare highlights and fresh discoveries by the great masters of Hungarian classical and modern art. Works will first go on view November 26–December 7 at Virág Judit Gallery, with free admission. The hammer falls on December 8 at 18:00 at the Budapest Congress Center, promising one of the year’s key art moments. Expect exceptional quality across the season’s curated lineup, from coveted classics to newly surfaced gems.

Spotlight: Zsolnay and Contemporary

Alongside the winter sale, the gallery presents its 5th Zsolnay Ceramic Auction and the 17th Postwar and Contemporary Auction, underscoring Budapest’s appetite for heritage craft and cutting-edge voices. Both are accompanied by a timed online component to widen access and pace the bidding.

December 17: Timed Online Auction

The 2nd Timed Online Auction goes live December 17 at 18:00. Online registration opens November 24, 2025, at 20:32 and closes December 17, 2025, at 23:55. Lots appear in catalog order, each with a 1-minute bidding window. A last-second push extends a lot by 20 seconds if a bid lands within the final 20 seconds. A green background means you’re leading; pink means you’ve been outbid; gray flags the last 10 seconds. Alerts notify you when you take the lead or lose it. Unsold lots reappear on the summary screen for another chance. Refresh occasionally for a smooth experience.

Organizers reserve the right to modify dates and programs.
