In 2026, Budapest hosts Veres 1 Theatre’s riotous staging of Ray Cooney and John Chapman’s Not Now, Darling (Ne most, drágám!), with multiple show dates. Set in London’s swankiest fur salon, it’s loaded with love triangles, mink coats, scantily dressed women, and clothing flying out of windows—pure, unabashed mayhem built for belly laughs. Cooney’s classic snap, crackle, and twist deliver a gleefully shameless night out.
Affairs, Furs, and Total Chaos
One owner of the pricey boutique, the puffed-up Gilbert, plots the conquest of his life while his wife is away. But from the first spark, grit jams the gears: headstrong lovers, mink prices plummeting to a tenth, a wife who won’t stay gone, and even a boozy frigate captain crash the party. Gilbert’s impeccably decent partner, Arnold, can’t track the multiplying affairs, women stuffed in closets, and husbands hunting their partners. Testosterone soars, the London transport authority mysteriously acquires loads of ladies’ underwear, and Gilbert keeps hurling out harebrained fixes as we hurtle toward a delirious finale.
