A fresh wave of children’s programs is taking over the Hungarian National Gallery (Magyar Nemzeti Galéria), designed for both lower and upper primary schoolers. Expect playful tours, monthly themed creative workshops, and clubs exploring stories, drama, animation, and nature. Beyond sharing knowledge, museum educators focus on immersive experiences; on request, the gallery visit can be capped with hands-on studio work, using manual techniques to explore the topic in a new way.

Color It Again! – Museum Studio for Kids
November 19, 2025, 16:00–17:00; November 26, 2025, 16:00–17:00
In November, the theater moves into the Gallery’s spaces. Kids step into artworks and try on different roles. They’ll write and perform stories and, across the sessions, make theater essentials: masks, puppets, headpieces, and even design a stage set. Be kings, queens, farmhands, or gooseherd girls — remember, it’s all a game.
Children participate independently, without guardians. After the program, they’re escorted back to the info desk as a group at 17:30–17:40.
Meeting point: information desk
Age group: 6–12
Maximum capacity: 15
Program fee: $6.80
The Creative Studio announces a new theme monthly with different activities each time. Sessions don’t build on each other — join any date. Monthly pass available: 4 sessions for $23.10 (instead of $27.20).

On a quiet winter afternoon, we chase a bright celestial wonder guiding us into the world of beautiful, centuries-old altarpieces. We’ll listen to angelic songs and take an imaginary walk through a winter landscape — snow crunching underfoot — exploring the magic of white paint. After the gallery adventure, we create with the holidays in mind.
What do toddlers pick up? Sensory awareness, observation, language and rhythm, fine motor skills, and social skills grow without them even noticing. Join us — the joy of creating together puts a smile on every face.
