Budapest’s Óbuda Synagogue turns Wednesday afternoons into family time with KiddieTime, a weekly series blending music, learning, drama games, and movement to bring Jewish traditions to life for kids ages 3–10 and their parents. Running 4:30–6:00 p.m. at 1036 Budapest, 3rd District – Óbuda (Obuda), Lajos Street (Lajos utca) 163, the sessions are free but require registration.
Sing, Learn, Act
Each afternoon unfolds in three parts. First up: a parent-child music block packed with Hebrew songs, prayers, and melodies tied to the holidays, making liturgy and tradition catchy and memorable. Then comes the weekly Torah portion through drama education: guided by a drama teacher, children dive into stories with play, role-play, and hands-on creation that turn texts into experiences.
Move with Confidence
The finale is all about movement: a kids’ Krav Maga class led by a coach with experience in Israel. Beyond exercise, the goal is to build confidence, discipline, and a strong sense of community in a safe, structured setting.
Who’s Behind It—and When
KiddieTime is led by Zsuzsa Szilánk, EMIH’s head of education, with programs coordinated by Miri Radó and Jewish content by Petra Nagy. Upcoming Wednesdays: 2026.04.29, 2026.05.06, 2026.05.13, 2026.05.20, and 2026.05.27 in Budapest. More dates coming soon.
