when: 2026.03.07., Saturday

On March 7, 2026, Budapest’s Ludovika15 – KEK Run kicks off again as part of the Carpathian Basin Universities Cup, welcoming everyone who loves to move, not just distance die-hards. The courses are designed so beginners and seasoned runners alike can find their pace and joy, all set around the beautifully renovated Ludovika Campus in District 8, Józsefváros, at 2 Ludovika Square (Ludovika tér 2).

Distances for Every Runner

This sixth edition offers an inclusive lineup of races:
– 1.1 km
– 3.3 km
– 5.5 km
– 7.7 km
– 10 km solo or pairs
– 15 km solo or pairs
Young runners can jump in early: the 1.1 km is open from age 6, while the 3.3 km welcomes upper primary students. Whether you’re chasing a PR or just the endorphins, there’s a start line with your name on it.

Why Sign Up

Your registration and optional T-shirt purchase support a charitable cause, continuing the KEK tradition of pairing sport with giving back. Every finisher receives a generous goodie bag and a KEK RUN medal, race winners earn valuable prizes, and each entry includes a raffle ticket for a shot at more rewards. If that’s not enough, KEK events add a yearly charity program to boost impact beyond the course.

Race HQ and Amenities

The race center is in the newly revamped Orczy Park. Expect changing rooms, bag drop, and showers on-site, so you can focus on running and celebrating after. Mark the date: 2026.03.07, Budapest. Organizers reserve the right to change the schedule and timing.

Pros
+
Super family-friendly: kids as young as 6 can run 1.1 km, and there are multiple short distances for all comfort levels
+
Easy entry for casual runners and walkers—distances from 1.1 km up to 15 km, plus fun pairs options
+
Feel-good factor: fees and T-shirt sales support charity, and there’s a raffle, medals, and solid goodie bags
+
Central Budapest location around the renovated Ludovika Campus and Orczy Park makes for a scenic, safe setting
+
Good on-site amenities (bag drop, changing rooms, showers) simplify logistics, especially if you’re traveling light
+
Reaching it is straightforward: Metro M3 (Nagyvárad tér), trams, and buses nearby; rideshare and car access are easy with city parking garages
+
Compared with U.S. fun runs, it’s similarly organized but cheaper, more intimate, and doubles as a cultural city-break activity
Cons
Not a globally famous race, so it won’t carry the bucket-list prestige of big-name international runs
The location (District 8, Ludovika/Orczy Park) isn’t as well-known to foreign tourists as Buda Castle or the Danube promenade
Hungarian isn’t strictly required, but some signage and announcements may be in Hungarian—download the event info ahead and use a translation app
Early-March weather can be cold and damp, and organizers note schedules may change, so flexibility is needed
