What You’ll See
Organized in eight chronological chapters, the exhibition traces Hungarian parliamentarism from its medieval roots to the regime change. The first section covers the beginnings up to the era of estate-based national assemblies. The second explores the path to a modern parliament up to 1918—from the reform diets to the consolidation of representation-based parliamentary principles. The third summarizes 1918–1990: the evolution of parliamentarism, detours, and restarts. Interactive stations explain the Golden Bull (Aranybulla) and the April Laws, and deepen understanding of the turbulent twentieth century.
