Budapest’s Retro Experience Center (Retro Élményközpont) is rolling out a weekly Senior Wednesday with a sweet perk: any senior who buys an on-site admission ticket on Wednesdays gets a free retro coffee or a glass of cordial. They swear the neighborhood’s best coffee is poured here, and the exhibition is “simply top-notch.” The offer is valid only for tickets purchased at the venue on the specified day and can’t be combined with other discounts. An Interactive Time Machine in the City Center

Expect an immersive “retro vibe” you can actually touch. Patrol a virtual Gazdagrét housing estate in a real Lada police car rebuilt as a simulator. Step into a vintage Híradó TV news set and try your hand as an anchor under two massive original, working cameras. Marvel at relics of the 1982 Hungarian–Soviet space mission, including a spacesuit of the same type worn by Bertalan Farkas aboard Soyuz 36, plus items he took on the trip.

Phones, Petrol, Pop Culture—and 8-bit Dreams

Slip into interactive phone booths to listen to period audio. Snap selfies at the ÁFOR gas station where ValMar shot the Úristen video. Browse ’80s–’90s computing icons: a 64-kilobyte Commodore personal computer, the Videoton TV game console, and the era’s coolest handheld LCD games. Test your trivia on playful quizzes spanning the Soviet–Hungarian spaceflight, Malév, classic cars, and retro computing.

Bistro Comforts and Set-Piece Nostalgia

Refuel at the cozy on-site bistro with nostalgic eats and drinks—yes, Bambi is on the menu. Wander a Szomszédok-style apartment interior, a full streetscape with shops, a parade stand, cars, and the ÁFOR pump. Strike a pose in the giant interactive mirror that dresses you in retro outfits. Count nine vintage motorcycles and three cars, including that Lada simulator. The venue has hosted shoots by ValMar, György Korda and Klári Balázs, DJ Junior, Neoton Família, Total Dance stars, Hungária, performers from A Dal, Feró Nagy, Peti Polgár, and Mary Nótár.
