Secessionist Zsolnay Masterpieces
Running from March 6 to April 19, 2026, daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., this show unveils the extraordinary Zsolnay collection amassed over more than three decades by collectors Virág Judit and Törő István. Pieces from their holdings have appeared in past Art Nouveau and Zsolnay exhibits, but the full collection debuts publicly here for the first time. Featuring around 120 items exclusively from the Zsolnay factory’s peak Art Nouveau period (1896–1914), it spotlights only the finest, most representative ceramics to capture the manufactory’s essence. Expect works not just from the Zsolnay family designers but also from its top European ceramists. Opening guided tours include March 6 at 4 p.m. by Törő István and March 8 at 11 a.m. by Törő István.
Free Guided Tours Galore
Free tours of the Secessionist Zsolnay Masterpieces exhibition are scheduled for April 7, April 9, April 12, April 14, April 16, and May 9, all in Budapest. Organizers reserve the right to change times and programs!

Zsolnay Art Nouveau ceramics are a stunning, unique Hungarian treasure, like discovering hidden Tiffany-style gems not seen elsewhere.
+
Pretty family-friendly with colorful, shiny pottery that could keep older kids interested for an hour or so.
+
No Hungarian skills required – the gallery caters to international visitors with English info and Budapest's tourist vibe.
+
Stacks up well against Art Nouveau exhibits in Vienna or Paris, but this exclusive 120-piece debut feels fresh and special.
Cons
–
Zsolnay isn't super well-known internationally compared to big names like Monet, so it might fly under your radar.
–
The specific gallery on Falk Miksa street isn't as iconic to foreign tourists as places like Buda Castle.
–
Younger kids might get bored staring at ceramics after 20 minutes, not the most interactive for families.
–
Tours and auctions have set dates, so you'd need to plan your 2026 trip around March-April for the best experience.
