A beloved Sunday kids’ program is back at Zsilip in Budapest’s 13th District, reborn as Zsiliputi Zsidó Vasárnapi Iskola. The refreshed Jewish Sunday School returns to the Zsilip Center at 1 Újpest Quay (Újpesti rakpart 1), a venue packed with a two-level playhouse and multiple study rooms. Sessions run Sundays from 10:00 to 12:15 (some notices list 10:00–12:30), welcoming children and teens ages 4–14 for games, hands-on learning, and a warm community vibe. Dates already set include 2026.05.31 and 2026.06.07 in Budapest. Organizers reserve the right to change times and programs.

What Kids Do on Sundays

The program blends celebration prep, learning about mitzvot, exploring traditions, and building values that stick for life. Age Groups and Vibes

I. Group (ages 4–6) – “Wave Group” (Hullám-csoport): Play, crafts, green themes. Every Sunday pops in green, with laughter, crafting, and Jewish stories springing to life through heroes and hands-on fun. Kids discover, tell tales, create, and grow into a tight little community. Time: Sundays 10:00–12:15.

II. Group (ages 7–9) – Creative workshops, Jewish stories, games. Expect a friendly buzz from September: crafting, storytelling, playful challenges, and a great mood. They can’t wait to meet as many smiling little seashells as possible. Time: Sundays 10:00–12:15.

III. Group (ages 10–11) – Community building, discovery, cheerful sessions. The “Sea Group” (Yam-csoport) promises space to make, play, laugh, and explore. Jewish stories, crafts, new friendships, and plenty of good cheer for everyone. Time: Sundays 10:00–12:15.

IV. Group (ages 12–13) – Bar/Bat Mitzvah Club (BMC): community talks and projects. Kicking off fall Sundays with positive energy, laughter, and big smiles. For those stepping toward adulthood and curious about becoming full members of the community. Expect conversations on Jewish values and traditions, your own big questions, lots of games, crafting, shared thinking, memorable experiences, creative challenges, and project work. Time: Sundays 10:00–12:15.

V. Group (ages 13–14) – MKZ: training future madrichim (youth leaders). Week by week, participants learn how to lead by example and support younger kids. Topics include children’s needs, development, and practical ways to help as madrichim—always with good vibes and a Jewish spirit. Time: Sundays 10:00–12:15.
