Budapest’s family-favorite Sunday kids’ program is back with a new name and the same buzzing energy. It’s where hundreds of kids have spent sunny Sunday mornings, and where memories stick for years thanks to games, laughter, and laid‑back learning.

Every Sunday, a young, enthusiastic team opens the doors from 10:00 to 12:30 for ages 4 to 14. Kids and pre‑teens split into age groups to get ready for holidays, learn about mitzvot, explore traditions, and pick up the kind of values that hold steady through life. Where and When

– Location: Zsilip Center, Újpesti rakpart 1, 13th District, Budapest
– Sundays, 10:00–12:30 (program entries list 10:00–12:15; expect activities through late morning)

Who It’s For

The school runs in small, age‑based groups with themed sessions designed to meet kids where they are—through stories, crafts, teamwork, and a lot of play. It’s vibrant, inclusive, and rooted in Jewish culture and community life.

Group I: Ages 4–6 – The Hullám Group

Green‑themed Sundays brim with games, giggles, and hands‑on crafting that bring Jewish stories and heroes to life. Little ones discover, tell tales, and create together, all while growing into a tight little community. Sessions are Sunday mornings 10:00–12:15 in a space set up for movement, imagination, and curiosity.

Group II: Ages 7–9 – Stories, Games, Creativity

From September, expect a lineup of creative projects, Jewish tales, energetic games, and a super‑good vibe. The leaders can’t wait to meet as many smiling “little seashells” as possible and dive into shared adventures every week. Sessions run Sundays 10:00–12:15, with plenty of time to make friends and make things.

Group III: Ages 10–11 – Community, Discovery, Good Cheer

Welcome to the Yam Group, a small, buzzing community where making, playing, laughing, and discovering all come standard. Kids jump into Jewish stories, craft sessions, easygoing social time, and upbeat activities that keep the mood lifted. The team is ready and raring to go—see you Sundays 10:00–12:15.

Group IV: Ages 12–13 – Bar/Bat Mitzvah Club

The Bármicva és Bátmicva Klub (Bar/Bat Mitzvah Club, BMC) launches fall Sundays with high spirits and good energy. It’s for those already stepping toward adulthood who want to explore what it means to become an official member of the community. Expect conversations about Jewish values and traditions, your own big questions, plus games, crafts, shared thinking, memorable experiences, creative challenges, and project work. Sundays 10:00–12:15.

Group V: Ages 13–14 – Training Future Madrichim

In the MKZ Group, teens train to become madrichim—youth leaders who guide younger kids. Week by week, they learn what strong role modeling looks like, how to lead, and how to teach. They explore children’s needs and development, and how to support them with warmth and clarity. Everything runs in a positive atmosphere, grounded in Jewish spirit. Sundays 10:00–12:15.

Why Families Love It

– Real community: Kids and teens find their people, and parents find a welcoming, organized space that speaks kid language without talking down.
– Play first, learning naturally: The program wraps Jewish life, values, and holidays in craft, movement, and stories—so it sticks without feeling like class.
– Gentle steps to leadership: Older kids get practical tools for mentoring, helping them grow confidence and purpose while giving back.
– Purpose‑built venue: The Zsilip Center’s two levels of play areas and multiple classrooms make the Sunday flow smooth, safe, and fun.
