Hungary’s popular “Night of the Chairlifts” (Libegők Éjszakája) marks its 10th anniversary on Saturday, July 12. For one evening only, chairlifts in four mountain regions – the Mátra, Bükk, Zemplén, and Buda Hills (Budai-hegység) – stay open late, offering a rare nighttime adventure.
Scenic Heights After Sunset
Participating locations include the Zugliget Chairlift (Zugligeti Libegő) in Budapest, the Lillafüred Chairlift Park (Lillafüred Libegőpark), Sástó Oxygen Adrenalin Park, and the Zemplén Adventure Park (Zemplén Kalandpark) in Sátoraljaújhely. Riders can look forward to special late-night trips, gliding high above the illuminated cityscapes and enjoying sunset panoramas that most people never experience from a chairlift.
How to Join the Fun
Details about events and ticket sales will be released one or two weeks before the event. With high demand in previous years, early ticket purchase is recommended for anyone wanting a magical evening in the mountains.
