For two days in early October 2025, the charming village of Cák (Cák) transforms into a haven of autumn flavors and lively traditions at the Pincesor (Wine Cellar Row) during the Cáki Chestnut Gastro Festival (Cáki Gesztenyés Gasztro Fesztivál). Locals and visitors are greeted by a bustling artisan market featuring small-scale producers’ goods and unique handmade creations, all soaking up the unmistakable fall atmosphere.
Live Music and Folk Fun
On Saturday, enjoy the Hungarian-Croatian Zsidanszky Becari tambura band, followed by an Austrian-Slovenian folk harmonica performance by Géza Peltzer (Peltzer Géza). The Community House hosts Tamás Joós (Joós Tamás) presenting “Violin King and Princess Hanga” (a musical fairytale), with more music from the Kőszegfalva Folk Choir, a lively concert by Gergő Oláh (Oláh Gergő), and Dalinda’s stunning a cappella performance.
Sunday: Kids, Dance, Fire and More
Sunday kicks off with the Aprócák Children’s Dance Group (Aprócák gyermek néptánccsoport), the Burgenland Hungarian Cultural Association’s Folk Ensemble, and the energetic Band of Rascals (Zsivány Zenekar).
