Looking for something different to do on a Sunday in Budapest? Head to the Hungarian National Gallery (Magyar Nemzeti Galéria) on October 19, 2025, where the domed first floor transforms into a concert hall filled with exquisite choral and orchestral performances. From 11:00 AM to noon, the Viadana Chamber Choir will take over the space, promising a musical journey across centuries and styles.
Diverse Repertoire, World Premieres
The program blends Renaissance gems like Pierluigi da Palestrina’s Sicut cervus, John Dowland’s Come Again, and Thomas Morley’s Now Is the Month of Maying with contemporary works—including the world premiere of Máté Balogh’s Arctic Dawn. You’ll also hear Ola Gjeilo’s Northern Lights, György Ligeti and Sándor Weöres’s Magány (Loneliness), Béla Bartók’s Bolyongás (Wandering), and more, including works by Bálint Baráth, Éva Hutvágner, Miklós Kocsár, and Zoltán Kodály.
All You Need Is a Ticket
Admission is simple—just grab a ticket to any exhibition at the museum and you’re all set for the concert. The Viadana Children’s Choir will also perform, all under the direction of conductor Gergely Kurucz.
