Over in Kiskőrös (Little Basket), anticipation is building for the 16th Rooster Stew Cooking Festival (Kakaspörköltfőző Fesztivál) on October 11, 2025. Locals and visitors alike flock to Leisure Park (Szabadidő Park), the perfect spot for both epic cooking competitions and lively entertainment.
The day kicks off at 9 a.m. with a festive fire-lighting ceremony. From morning until late at night, the park buzzes with live music, kids’ activities, mountains of rooster stew, and grilled sausages. On stage, acts range from the Melodia Duo (Melódia Duó) and the Kiskőrös (Little Basket) City Wind Orchestra with majorettes, to jazz with the Grey Sparrows Jazz Band (Szürke Verebek Jazzbandája) and Soundwitch, all capped off by DJ Kecsa spinning until midnight.
Non-Stop Family Fun
For families, there’s face painting, a selection of bouncy castles, archery, and toy cars—every activity is free. Éva Supka (Supka Éva) hosts the event, making sure everyone gets in on the fun.
