Gábor Presser, Dusán Sztevanovity, and Péter Horváth’s cult-classic musical, The Attic (A Padlás), is touring Hungary in 2025, with Veres 1 Theater (Veres 1 Színház) bringing the show to several cities, including Veresegyház, Miskolc, and Debrecen. The story unfolds over one extraordinary night in a Budapest attic in 1988, during the final years of communism.
An Outcast and Four Ghosts
The attic belongs to Radio Man (Rádiós), a cyberneticist recently let go from the state center after trying to contact extraterrestrials without a permit in 1986. Now self-employed, he encounters four spirits—Kid (Kölyök), Prince (Herceg), Lantern (Lámpás), and Pusher (Meglökő)—each with their own quirks and unfinished business.
